Everybody’s always saying I should make videos …..

So, a long time ago I was talking to some blogging buddies and they said I should do videos. (Actually my brother, his wife, and my wonderful husband have all said I should do videos too, and so have quite a few other people…)

Then I was talking to my workout partner about that just yesterday at the gym, and she said I should do videos too!

So I went home – and made a video! (Well, I showered first.)

Woman holding teacup for a morning tea moment

Now back when my blogging buddies were first telling me about how I should do this, I said something – just goofing around – about how I could do a Mantel and Table Morning Tea Moment. It was really just a joke, but one of them gasped, and then they all said that would be perfect! Of course that was a long time ago and I haven’t done anything – until yesterday!

I was a little nervous, and in fact I spilled my whole first cup of tea when the tripod I was using popped my phone out right on top of the cup, but after I got all that cleaned up, I just recorded it one time, then put it on Instagram, and went in to the office! No editing, no special lighting, just tea and talk.

So here’s my maiden video voyage – let me know what you think!

Just click the link below to see it on Instagram.

  1. Love that you’re doing this! Thanks for sharing with us and can’t wait to see more as you evolve in your video journey. Have a great day. XO- MaryJo

    1. Thanks MaryJo – it’s definitely a learning curve, but a new tripod is on its way, and like they say, the more you practice, the better you get! 🙂 Hope you have a great day too – thanks for stopping over!

  2. Congratulations on your First Video blog.
Main thing is you survived. At least that is what I always say when I have to give a speech.
I think a video would be really helpful when you explain some of your gorgeous table lay outs.

    1. Haha – yes I did just manage to stay alive, though my sweater was still a little damp from that tripod accident! 🤣 I should have checked with you on how to do speeches! Thanks so much for the support Pam, and I AM looking forward to some tablescape videos too. So much to learn, but you’ll be the first to know when I figure it all out. So glad you stopped by – take care till next time!

  3. Love this Barbara – so sweet and you are so pretty! I *highly* recommend gettingsome good video pro lights to use when doing this – and to use for all your pictures. It will take it all to a whole new level of awesome. ALSO if you did this on your cell phone you can lighten up your videos too – and try to never have back lighting like standing in front of a window. Keep it up! I see more of you doing this in the future. Good luck . Hugs.

    1. Aww you’re the sweetest, Michele – thank you! And thanks for the tips too – there’s so much to learn. I’ll feel (and with any luck, look,) like a pro sooner rather than later. So glad you stopped over, and maybe you can join me for another morning tea now and then! Take care!
