Stop #23 ~ The Charming Traveling Teacup Visits Cape Coral FL
Our teacup flew 3117 miles from the mountains of eastern Washington state, back to Florida to visit Kari.
Kari is a long-time lifestyle blogger, and we were so happy to welcome her back last October. She’d been away battling cancer – and she won! Hosting our Traveling Teacup was one of her first post-cancer projects. I’m so honored and grateful that she wanted to be a part of the journey!
Kari has written her own post of her visit with Tessa Rose. I’ll give you that link at the bottom of the page, as usual.
And so without further ado, here are Kari’s five ways to entertain a charming Traveling Teacup!
1 ~ Put Our Charming Traveling Teacup in a Tablescape
Kari had set a lovely St. Patrick’s Day tablescape, which included a beautiful Beleek Shamrock tea set! She says Tessa Rose wanted to sit in on the table setting when she saw the other tea cups!
2 ~ Relax by the Pool
After her long journey and the excitement of hanging with the other teacups, Kari took our little traveler out to the pool. Wow – it’s lovely!
If I were Tessa, I’d jump right in. Isn’t that water a beautiful turquoise? Kari says there’s a spa too – that’s where I’d go first, I think!
I love this gorgeous fire pit area – look at that beautiful color and pattern combination. (And isn’t that blue fireglass lovely?) I’m imagining relaxing on that couch and putting my tootsies by a fire on a cool night.
But Tessa doesn’t have to imagine it, she’s right there!
3 ~ Move to the Lanai to See the Waterfall
Kari’s lanai was their next stop. I love the beautiful rock in this water feature. Just think how relaxing it would be to sit nearby and listen to the sparkling music of the waterfall!
4 ~ Visit the Secret Garden
And then, a stroll through the yard and a stop at Kari’s secret garden. It looks like just the place where she and our charming traveling teacup can sit and meditate undisturbed. Kari says that the garden has been a bit neglected (since her illness.) Similar to the secret garden in the book!
5 ~ Take the Charming Traveling Teacup out to Lunch
Finally, it was time for lunch overlooking the water of the Gulf Coast. Kari took Tessa Rose to Marker 92 Waterfront Bar & Bistro in Cape Coral. What a lovely view they had. And gorgeous sunshine!
They got to see lots of yachts and sailboats at the adjoining marina.
And the huge dolphin fountain at the entrance.
This trip was all about water, it seems, and that’s totally perfect for a jaunt to the coast of Florida! It makes me want to go along with our charming Traveling Teacup, as she visits so many wonderful places!
Thank You!
Thank you so much Kari for being a wonderful host, and entertaining our little teacup – and us! I feel like I’ve just had a lovely warm vacation!

CoCo says
It’s been so much fun to follow along on all the adventures of Tessa Rose. I swear the creativity never ceases to amaze me. I also live in Florida and I can definitely say the Gulf side is the prettiest side. The water is such a beautiful shade of blue. Can’t wait to find out where she winds up next. It’s almost time to celebrate her anniversary! Hope your weekend has been a blessed one, CoCo
Barbara Leone says
CoCo – you are so sweet to remember when we started this! 🙂 It’s been a blast! I know – I’d love to get down to the gulf side of FL. Kari’s photos just whet my travel appetite! Next stop – Pensylvania! Happy Week my friend!
Michele says
Oh how I wish I were Tessa Rose!!!!!! What a beautiful place to be hanging on as winter winds its way gone and slowly spring will be upon us. The look of the Gulf and pool – oh how I miss the water. I grew up on water and live my adulthood landlocked. We have 3 rivers and a huge waterway – but it isn’t a Great Lake or ocean!!! And it isn’t in the backyard, either. I long to visit my hometown and can’t wait till it is safe to travel without fear of getting the virus. Soon = better days.
This was a neat post and I am now heading over to her blog to see her Tessa Rose post, too and give her a reply.
Thanks for all the smiles, Barbara – can’t believe you started it in May – almost a year now. Any idea how long Tessa will be travelling? I hate for the fun to end!!! Hugs.
Barbara Leone says
Hi Michele! I hope you get to go back to your hometown soon – it’s really hard to be away from the water! That’s why I moved back to my hometown as soon as I could! 😉 You’ll love Kari’s post! And I guess the fun isn’t ending any time soon – we still have new people joining the host group all the time! Take care over there, and Happy Wednesday now!
Kim says
Another wonderful trip for the lovely Tessa Rose. The map is getting full but what fun she has had! I must pop over to Kari’s site and see what she has to say – I followed her cancer journey and what a remarkable lady. Thanks for sharing Barbara and Happy Tuesday to you!
Barbara Leone says
Ha – I know – that map is going to run out of room any minute now! The arrow up to your place is the tallest one so far! I’ll have to start a new map soon. 🙂 Kari IS a remarkable lady – I’ve been so impressed with her kindness and unflagging spirit! Hope you have a lovely week!
Jeanne Cameron Washburn says
