Hello and welcome to a beautiful Pacific Northwest cottage garden, stop number five for our Traveling Teacup!

If you’re just tuning in, you can read about what started all this excitement, in the original Traveling Teacup post.

The Story So Far

Our teacup’s journey started just up the road, at my dear friend Martha’s lovely Oregon farm. Then it was down to the Bay Area to see creator and HomeTalk personality, Cynthia Nessel of CreateWithCynthia.com.

Next was a cross country trip to the beautiful home of Kansas City stylist, Suzanne Zingg at Suzanne Zingg Style. Then on to Borger TX to visit Candace McCoy, owner of the Lifestyle blog Unfolding Beautiful.

Stop #5 – Tea in a Lovely Cottage Garden

Relaxed after its restful picnic in Texas, our teacup was back on the move. It flew 1751 miles to the charming town of Lakebay WA on the shore of the Puget Sound.

That idyllic location is the paradise of Kim Robinson, the famous Instagram gardener and blogger at Shiplap and Shells!

Oh my! I’ve followed Kim for quite a while, and I’m totally smitten with her gorgeous cottage garden and lovely home. Here’s her story of our teacup’s visit!

A Day With Tessa

I’ve been looking forward to this visit, and to spend the day with my visiting teacup! I loved the idea of Candace (our last teacup host,) naming her guest teacup Rosie. It definitely needed a name. I called her “Tessa” while she was visiting.

I so love our teacup’s new names! Maybe she’ll arrive back home like royalty, with a long string of them!

A Cozy Morning

First, I made a cup of tea and hung out in bed for a bit, catching up on Instagram, and a blog post or two.

Breakfast In The Cottage Garden

Next, with Tessa full of tea, we headed out to an area in the garden. There, we sat on a bench, enjoying a little breakfast.

I even splurged by making muffins for the special occasion.

Mmmmm – muffins!!

In The Greenhouse

I wanted to show Tessa around the “Instagram famous” greenhouse.

I think she approved.

Visiting The Cottage Garden Roses

I continued the tour by taking Tessa to the picket fence raised garden beds overlooking the Puget Sound.

She fit in perfectly among the roses. I believe this was her favorite spot of the day!

Well it was certainly mine – what a gorgeous location! That whole rose cottage garden look is my dream come true!

The weather was perfect for my special teacup guest!

Reading On The Deck

Lastly, we decided to hang out on the deck.

We enjoyed a little Floret Farm’s Cut Flower Garden reading before heading inside for the day.

By showing Tessa around, it gave me a chance to enjoy the weather, the gardens and some relaxation. I tend to always be gardening or working on a project.

But on this day, I spent quality time with Tessa, just as I would have if any other guest had come for a visit. I absolutely loved the opportunity!

And we absolutely loved the gorgeous photos of your home and cottage garden, Kim! Thank you so much for hosting our Traveling Teacup, and for sharing your lovely day with us!

Kim has written her own post about her time with Tessa. Hop over to her blog Shiplap and Shells to read that one too!

Our Traveling Teacup Continues Onward

And so, Rosie Tessa says goodbye to Kim and the beautiful Pacific Northwest. Next stop, the warmth of Southern California!
