Happy Final Autumn Blog Hop Day my friends – we’re wrapping up our series with a Fall Tablescape!
The Fall Tablescape Blog Hop
Thanks once again to our lovely, creative, and administratively savvy host, Rachelle and her team from My Hubbard Home!
Whether you’re joining us from my friend Chloe at Celebrate and Decorate’s darling pumpkin table, or from anywhere else, Welcome!
Be sure to go all the way to the bottom for the next beautiful fall tablescape on the hop!
Flowers Flowers Flowers!
If you’ve been around Mantel and Table this season, you know that I’ve been crushing on peaches and pinks. I’ve also been leaning toward reds, so this garland has them all!
Plus, these flowers have a little secret. They were on the special rack at the grocery store that holds the older blooms.
They’re a little more mature than the other flowers, and that brings the price way down. So for the same money, you can get about twice the flowers!
The garland looks lush, but it’s really easy to make. I’m going to tell you in another post, all about the way I use these older flowers for as long as possible. So tune in again in the next week or so for the scoop!
A Skinny Runner for our Fall Tablescape
When I think of a fall tablescape, I often think of wood and leaves and gold.
So to bring in as much wood as possible, I kept the table bare. Except of course, for these gorgeous skinny linen table runners from Diane at South House Designs.
(I actually did a whole post about these fabulous table linens a while back. Check that out for all the details and info on this gorgeous runner.)
Gorgeous Rich and Simple China
You know how sometimes you want to keep the setting simple (yet elegant) and let the flowers provide the luxury?
That’s what I was in the mood for with this fall tablescape.
The place settings themselves are very classic and minimal.
These are some of my favorite plates – Olympia by Royal Doulton.
Besides the blush damask napkin, there’s no decoration on the plate. Just smooth glossy soothing, cream-colored porcelain.
The luxurious garland tells the whole story!
And Fall Tablescape Gold Accents
Then I just used gold for everything else!
My trusty gold chargers.
And the gold flatware I’ve had forever.
Gold Candle Holders
I used several different kinds of candle holders. Some short sparkly votives of gold mercury glass give a glow at table level.
And some taller brass candlesticks in our fall tablescape, bring some height to the arrangement.
Wouldn’t Be a Fall Tablescape Without Sparkly Crystal
And of course, we can’t forget the glassware! These are some of my favorites – the Riedel Burgundy glass.
This shape of glass makes our pinot noir smell and taste its best! And we have a fair amount of pinot noir around our place!
Plus it looks great on the table too! Here’s a child’s eye view. (Or a grown woman who happens to be on the floor!)
Ready For a Cozy Fall Dinner
And so I’ll leave you with a shot of the whole table. A perfect time to sit down to dinner.
Even if your guests are only your immediate family, it’s so fun to treat them to a beautiful fall tablescape!

How pretty and gasp ! feminine. Really elegant. Good timing. I was admiring a Christmas wreath with peach roses, matching ornaments and eucalypti.
Barbara Leone says
Ha – I know we both like feminine! I don’t think the guys really mind, even though they may fuss a bit! 🙂 That wreath sounds beautiful – maybe I’ll keep these colors into the holidays and try that out. Thanks for the idea, and thanks for stopping by! Happy Friday! 🙂
Kim says
Barbara, the centerpiece is truly stunning! Wow – just love the colors of the flowers, showcased by your beautiful place settings. Just lovely.
Barbara Leone says
Hi Kim – I know – weren’t those colors great?! I couldn’t pass them up in the grocery store even though they were on the clearance rack! 🙂

Barbara Leone says
Hi Sandi! Yes the scent is amazing! 🙂 I’m so glad you like it – it would be great as an anniversary party table! Hope you’re doing well over there. Happy Thursday!

Barbara, Your table is so elegant! The rose table runner centerpiece is truly amazing! This looks like it is not just a mere dinner party, but more like a sophisticated wedding luncheon or dinner! You were right to keep the rest of the table elegantly simple to showcase that gorgeous centerpiece!
Barbara Leone says
Hi Chloe! Don’t you just love flowers, though?! I spent most of my time on the garland, then just put the plates on as an afterthought! 🙂 I love all our different tables in this hop – what a fun series it’s been. I hope we get to do another one together sometime soon!
Cindy says
Hi Barbara,
Live this tablescape and using linens on the sides is brilliant.
I usually use them down the middle and across. I’m going to give this try if NJ can ever see people again.
Love the garland and looking forward to your post.
Cindy
Barbara Leone says
Hi Cindy! Isn’t that fun on the sides? I’m going to have to try your way of putting them across – I’ve never tried that, and as soon as you said it I had a great vision of how it might work! Thanks! 🙂 Hope you have a lovely evening!
Rachelle says
Oh, Barbara I adore an elegangantly set table. Those roses are really doing some talking:) Using the older ones in a garland down the middle is perfect. It’s a tip I really need to remember. Plus the use of the linens running vertically under each plate. That’s another good tip. You did a smashing job, and if I were your guest I’d feel special sitting at your table. Pinning!
Thank you for another beautiful table to add to the last day of the hop. And, of course for participating throughout. It was wonderful having you along for my first blog hop!
RR
Barbara Leone says

Karins Kottage says
WOW! Barbara this is so elegant! You are so smart to use older flowers from the grocery store to save money! Brilliant idea! I also love the idea of using two skinny table runners basically as placemats. The mix with all the gold is gorgeous! Great work!

Your table is breathtaking Barbara, the fabulous roses are stunning! I love a long and low centerpiece/table runner using fresh elements, they are always the star of the show! Using simple elegant white china and crystal is the perfect way to let the flowers show off! This could be a wedding table, it’s so beautiful! I am looking forward to your tips for using older flowers and the step by step! These past 5 weeks of the Autumn blog hop have gone by so fast, I am going to go back and look at all the wonderful ideas again!
