Stop # 10 ~ Too Hot for a Tea Party in North Tustin CA
Our teacup hopped on a plane in Walla Walla, and traveled just over 1,000 miles south to the Southern California city of North Tustin.

You might remember from our teacup’s previous visit to SoCal (Stop #6,) that it was hot back in July. Well, it’s still hot – a little too hot for a tea party.
Her lovely host, Cheri Sains from @savvycheri , shows her a great time, regardless.
Here’s Cheri’s hot weather tale.
A Little Tea Party?
I’d like to introduce you to Tessa Rose. She is a traveling teacup who originated with Barbara at Mantel and Table.

I had recently been looking at my smallish collection of teacups and daydreaming about a time when I will host a tea party again. When Barbara asked for participants, I jumped at the chance. I mean, who wouldn’t love to receive a lovely little something in the mail?
Even better, this guest took up very little space, and was as charming as could be. β£β£I had so many plans for her visit, including my granddaughter’s first tiny tea party. Due to our SoCal heatwave, those plans weren’t realized.
How About A Cocktail Party Instead!
Tessa Rose spent more of her time moving through different locations in my home than being filled with hot tea. I did manage to sneak in a little cocktail with her one evening, as I’m a firm believer that teacups are not just for tea.

(Cheri is obviously a woman after my own heart – I also share this belief – as do several of our previous hosts!)β£β£ In addition to a cocktail, the two shared some matcha, which Cheri will tell us more about below!)
A Cool Morning Matcha Tea Party
Today is her last day, and thanks to a much needed cool morning, I was able to enjoy my morning matcha with her in the cabana.

I hadn’t had a matcha in weeks due to the heat, and this was such a welcomed way to start the week.

Yumm – that looks so good! Cheri and Tessa Rose have inspired me to have a matcha tea party!

Sharing a Morning Cup with Cheri & Tessa Rose
Here’s a little video Cheri sent us, so we can share their morning cup! If you listen, you can even hear the birds. A lovely relaxing moment!
And Flowers!
Cheri continues –
For our final morning together, I decided to add some crepe myrtle to the iceberg roses that I continually cut for the table. The crepe myrtle blooms don’t last long once cut, but they were the perfect compliment to Tessa Rose’s design. Added bonus: there will be a few less flowers that end up in my pool. π

β£β£I’m packing her bags and sending her off to Florida today. Her visit has inspired me to stop daydreaming of a tea party and make it happen.
I can’t wait to continue following her adventures. Be sure to join along with Mantel and Table. Who knows, maybe Tessa Rose will visit you someday too.β£β£
Cheri, thanks so much for the gorgeous photos of our little traveler! And thanks for entertaining her in such style, despite the ridiculous temperatures! I hope your granddaughter will have her first tea party soon!
Next Stop: Florida
And so – onward! As Cheri mentioned, our Traveling Teacup’s next stop is all the way in Florida! It’s a good thing she had some healthy matcha to fortify her for the journey.
Thanks for joining us for this edition of The Traveling Teacup! I hope you stop back next time for another fun adventure!
And if you DO want to join in and host our Tessa Rose, just let me know in Comments, the Contact Form, or send me an email to barbara@mantelandtable.com

Have a Lovely Teacup Tuesday!

Another successful trip for Tessa Rose. I must admit that I have never heard of matcha before. Intriguing, as is the idea of cocktail hour in a teacup. I must try that. Happy travels Tessa Rose!
Hi Kim! I just found out about matcha last year, but it’s really yummy! Ha – glad you like the cocktail in a teacup too – that might be an upcoming Teacup Tuesday event! π Hope you’re having a great long weekend!
Love following along on the journey! What a fun trip to Cali! Thanks for sharing over at Charming Homes & Gardens!
Thanks so much Kristin! The stops are all so fun! Hope you’re having a lovely holiday weekend!
Cheri looks so familiar… and we live in neighboring cities! Crazy! Thanks for sharing another part of the journey!
Isn’t that fun?! Maybe you teacup ladies are just drawn to each other! π Hope you have a wonderful weekend Julie, and get to stay nice and cool somewhere! π
I always have so much fun seeing what is in store for the traveling teacup! You have gotten a huge following from this Barbara! I;m just so glad I got to be a part of this. Thank you for sharing with Charming Homes and Gardens!
I’m so glad you got to be part of it too Kim – your garden is unsurpassed – and your photos are gorgeous! It really is fun to see what’s next! See you next Wednesday at CH&G!π
And I’ve been drinking sugar free blue raspberry fruit drink from a plastic bottle decorated with a flamingo! But I do have a small collection of all different teacups with violets on them; don’t dare start collecting cups with my favorite pink roses (I have vintage dishes for that!). I have enjoyed seeing the tea cup’s travels and different tablescapes!
Hahahahah Kathy you crack me up! Now I want a pink flamingo plastic bottle!! π€£ But violets and pink roses are lovely too! I’m so happy you’re here to share the travels and tablescapes! Take care till next time!
So many fun adventures, so little time. These posts always bring me so much joy… and remind me to go snag a cup of tea!
Ha – isn’t that the truth?! π I’m so glad you like them Tana – and we both like a good cup of tea too! π Thanks so much for stopping by!
Always so much fun to see where the traveling tea cup goes, and how each host presents it. Thank you so much for sharing, and looking forward to what comes next.
Thanks so much for stopping over Chas! It really is fun to follow along and see the fun! π
What a fun adventure, your traveling teacup has so many stories to share π Love the idea of using it for a cocktail!
HA – yes! We all seem to love the cocktail idea! I see a Zoom HH in our future! π Thanks so much for stopping by Denise!
I sure like the idea of putting a cocktail into a tea cup….now that might be fun! Thanks for sharing. Reading Teacup Tuesday always inspires me to pour myself a cuppa tea!
Hi Mary! Me too! π I like the cocktail idea too – maybe we can all have a virtual teacup happy hour one day! π Take care down there, and Happy Tuesday!
I would be very excited to participate in a virtual teacup happy hour. Or as we call it in our house, “happy time”. No need to limit the happy to only an hour.
Wouldn’t that be fun?! We’ll have to put that on the calendar to look into! π
I do love a good Old Fashioned in my teacup, but a little shot of lemonade vodka mixed with some iced tea is awfully refreshing. π
