Spring is so beautiful, and it’s a perfect time to celebrate with a colorful tablescape inspired by a bright English Country Garden!
I’m also celebrating with 15 other table designers with a blog hop organized by our talented, organized, and gracious host, Rita from Panoply! Thank you so much Rita! Whether you’ve come over from Linda’s beautiful spring tea party, are a Mantel and Table regular, or just happened to find your way here, Welcome – I’m so happy to share a spring table with you!

A Colorful Tabelscape with Spring Flowers
The thing that really says spring to me is flowers! I love the delicate pinks, the bright yellows, and the deep maroons of the earliest spring blooms. This table came about because of the beautiful soft pink camellia bush we have outside my office window, and the flowers my son sent me!
Our house was built in 1917, and we think this bush was planted about the same time. I hope I look that good when I’m 100 years old! If you’ve ever had a camellia, you know it grows like crazy! We have to prune it ruthlessly to keep it off the second story roof and out of the office window! But I love to sit at my desk and look at its lovely pink blooms – they’re one of the first signs of spring in our yard.

The gorgeous spring flower arrangement that my son sent was in honor of his brother’s birthday. He died way too soon, but the flowers are always a sweet reminder of him and the years we had together.
This year, my flowers were particularly bright, and they just called to me to be the centerpiece of a colorful tablescape.

A Bright Tablecloth
Since I was in that springtime mood and the camellia bush was that lovely pink, I turned to my April Cornell rose tablecloth. The abundance of pattern and color worked so well with both kinds of flowers. The whole look reminds me so much of an English country garden.
The napkins are so fun too. The same floral pattern in the middle with a solid color band at the edges.

I don’t think they make this particular pattern anymore, but you can sometimes find it on Etsy. Or you could go to April Cornell’s website and I’m sure you’d find something you like. I’ll try to track down something similar and link it in my Boutique Recommendations below.
The Non-Colorful Part of the Colorful Tablescape
I thought that since my colorful tablescape was already so colorful, I’d need something not quite so colorful – but still beautiful – to go with it. The rose gold chargers and rosy copper flatware worked well! That coppery pink is almost a neutral. But it has just enough pretty pinkness to blend in, yet still set off the bright flowers.
I’ve talked about this flatware before – I really love it, and so do our guests. It’s solid and fun to hold, and nice to use too! Those little knife blades cut surprisingly well!
You can see other ways I’ve used it, in these two posts: 4 Easy Tips for Setting a Beautiful Fall Tablescape and Festive Star Printables for a Last Minute Holiday Celebration.

I also love this china! I got it for my state fair table last year, and I think it’s so pretty with its delicate lacy pattern. It’s got such a smooth satiny finish too!

You’ve seen my glassware before – I use the crystal water glasses literally every day, and the Riedel wine glasses too. This is the glass shape we use for my favorite bordeaux wines!

A Last Look at the Colorful Tablescape
So there’s my colorful tablescape for spring! What do you think? Would you mix something so floral with something so bright? Let me know in the comments, and be sure to scroll down for any pieces you might be interested in for your own spring tables.

Your florals are just stunning! I’m hoping to recreate a similar look like this for my Easter Sunday dinner this week. Thanks so much for the inspiration.
Thank you so much Kate! I’d love to hear what your Easter table was like! Hope you had a wonderful celebration!
Barbara, your table makes my heart sing! The English country look you created is just dreamy—the mix of colors, florals, and texture is so rich and full of life. What a wonderful garden setting too. It’s all so lovely! Happy Easter!
Oh thank you Jennifer – I’m so glad you like it! Happy Easter to you too!
Oh Barbara, I am so sorry to learn of the loss of your son. What a thoughtful and lovely way to honour his memory on his birthday. They are stunning and certainly remind me of a colourful English garden! And the tablecloth and napkins are gorgeous! I love the simple, delicate pattern of the china making them easy to pair with almost any occasion. The crystal glassware and rose gold flatware add to the romantic English garden feel! Wishing you a joyful spring my friend!
Thanks Maureen! I still miss him every day, but it’s wonderful to remember him with such gorgeous flowers! And so fun to use them on a table – what else, right?! Hope you’re moving into spring over there, too!
Barbara. English Country is one of my most favorite styles, and you have captured it beautifully! Wow , that camellia is gorgeous! It makes a perfect backdrop for your table. The tablecloth is so pretty, and the china with its delicate floral pattern is beautiful. The floral bouquet was such a thoughtful gift and makes a most stunning centerpiece for your table. I love color and flowers so this table makes my heart sing! Happy spring!
Thanks so much Shannon, you’re so kind! The AC linens just scream English Country, don’t they? They’re always so fun to accessorize! Hope you’re having a wonderful spring – I’m so glad I could join you all on this hop!
Such fun to visit an English Country House for an intimate gathering in the garden. Loved the gorgeous blooms and your camellia bush is gorgeous. The tablecloth is gorgeous and loved how the simple place settings provide a bit of tranquility amidst the blooming. All the color is certainly a celebration of the season. When the garden begins to bloom so does a celebration of the season that you have captured here.
Lynne, Thrifting Wonderland
Hi Lynne – thanks so much! I’m trying to push the spring color envelope with this one – so glad you liked it! It’s always so fun to hop with you – I loved your beautiful table! Take care and Happy Spring!
Such a lovely backdrop for a perfectly beautiful tablescape, B. What a breath of fresh spring color. Love it.
Thanks so much Michele! I’ll take all the color I can get while the weather is making up its mind whether it’s now spring, or still winter! Take care over there my friend – thanks so much for stopping over!
Barbara, what perfect AC linens to show off against your camellia. My gosh that plant is so beautiful! I am so tempted to try to see if one will grow for me. My neighbor down the street has a mature one that they’ve pruned into a tree shape, limbing up the lower branches, and it is nearly two stories tall as you mention yours is. This table setting is just beautiful, from the rose chargers and tools to the china and stems. That is a beautiful and most thoughtful bouquet your son sent to you. I am sorry for your son’s passing. I don’t know the background, but love that you honor his memory each year.
Thank you for sharing your beautiful English country table and glimpse into your personal story. So happy you’re part of this hop.
Rita, thank you so much for your sweet comment, and for including me in these hops – they’re so much fun, and you make my Executive Assistant heart so happy with your streamlined planning and organization! Your neighbor’s camellia tree must be beautiful. I’m leaning toward pruning up the bottom part of mine too, so I can see past it into the yard from my office window. We get birds nesting in it though, so I’ll have to wait till the babies fly away! Hope you have a lovely spring, and thanks again!
Barbara, your table is so lovely for spring. Love the alfresco look with your camellias. The AC tablecloth and napkins are lovely and so perfect for the English garden theme. I don’t think it is too bright. I Love the rose gold chargers and rosy copper flatware. The florals are stunning and a lovely tribute from your son for his brother. So sorry for your loss. Your table is so refreshing look to welcome spring.
Thank you so much Linda – I love to eat outside whenever I can, even if I may be rushing it a bit at this time of year! And thank you for the condolences. It’s so nice to be able to remember him on his birthday in such a beautiful way! Happy Spring – it’s so fun to hop with you!
Barbara, this is most definitely an English country garden! When I visited the southern part of England I saw a colorful flower garden accenting nearly every home with abandon no matter the size. Pink is always a sign of spring with its light carefree look. Throw in roses and camellias and you’ve got a charming, romantic table. Your son’s thoughtful flowers are beautiful. Their delightful shapes are mirrored in the pretty china. Have a wonderful Spring!
Oh I bet you had a fabulous time in England – it’s one of my very favorite places, and you’re right, so full of flowers! I’m so happy you like the table! I’m always surprised at myself when I use so much color all at once! Hope you’re having a lovely spring down there!
Hi Barbara, It would be amazing to be sitting at your lovely table at this time. Here in Wisconsin, we are getting rain mixed with snow. So it gives me great enjoyment to be sitting with a hot cup of coffee and reading your post and being comforted by your English Country tablescape. I love your beautiful tablecloth and floral centerpiece and your lovely pink blooms in your background. I must admit, I am a big fan of April Cornell tablecloths too. The florals and colors are always so beautiful and there is so much you can use with them. Your flowers really bring out the beautiful pinks in your tablecloth. Both are bold and really make a huge statement. Your lovely dinnerware adds a delicate elegance to your table but doesn’t distract from the gorgeous flowers and tablecloth. I would definitely enjoy every moment among your stunning pink blooms, it makes such a beautiful backdrop to your exquisite table too. Happy Easter.
Hi Marsha! I know – I LOVE April Cornell. I wish I could still get this pattern, but at least there are lots of other gorgeous ones to choose from when I want another color. I’m sorry I’m so awfully late answering your kind comment, but maybe by now you’re getting some spring in WI! Lovely hopping with you – take care till next time!
Barbara, your table is perfect. Period! I love the sweet AC tablecloth against the camellia bush, and even if you do have to prune it like crazy, it’s totally worth it for such a beautiful setting. The china is beautiful and looks gorgeous on the rose gold chargers with the AC napkins. Ohmygosh, the flowers are gorgeous, and I have to say that they bring a tear to my eye knowing that your son gave them to you in honor or your other son’s birthday. It is definitely an English country garden look and you nailed it. Beautiful my friend and happy spring to you!
Ha – yes, I actually love to prune the camellia because you almost can’t hurt it even if you try! I once cut one to the ground, and it just sent up 4 foot branches the next year from the part of the root I couldn’t get out. It’s now a thriving bush in the front garden! I know – my son is so sweet. Glad you like the colors – I’m kind of surprised at myself for all the color these days! Take care up there my friend – it’s always such a pleasure to share a hop with you!
Barbara, you had me at English garden. Your blooming camellia is stunning. What is the name of this one? My White By The Gate has long been a favorite. I’ve not hod good luck with pink ones I’ve tried,, but your’s looks amazing. Your thoughtful son must make you proud. The flowers are gorgeous and perfect for this lovely alfresco table. Thanks for sharing the beauty and inspiration. Happy Spring and Happy Easter!
Hi Sarah! Yes, my son does make me proud – he’s so thoughtful. I’m very lucky! I don’t know the actual name of the pink camellia, but there’s one that looks just like it online called Pink Perfection. Your white one must be gorgeous – they’re such beautiful plants! Happy Spring to you too. It’s so fun to hop with you!
Barbara, your colorful table setting is the epitome of spring and those camellias are stunning! It is a pleasure to tour with you–happy spring, Cecilia @ My Thrift Store Addiction
Hi Cecilia! Thanks! I was so happy to have that camellia tree in the yard when we moved in! So nice to hop with you too. Happy Spring!
Lovely table Barbara. You picked a fabulous setting and all the table details compliment it. The florals are perfect for spring. Love the floral dishes. 🤩 XO- MaryJo
Your table sings the wonder of spring! Regeneration and remembrance are wonderful tributes to both of your sons ❤️.
What a sweet thing to say Carol – thank you! Regeneration and remembrance is a beautiful phrase, and perfect!
Hi MaryJo! Isn’t that pattern beautiful on the plates? Amazing what you can do with tissue paper!! Always lovely to see you my friend!
Lovely, how wonderful it would be to be outside with flowers. Spring is majorly draggin her feet here in Chicagoland. Love your combinations and your Camellia is gorgeous!
Thanks so much Sandi! Hope you get some more spring soon!!
Barb your pink table is beautiful and how thoughtful of your son to remember to give you extra joy for such a sad part of your life. I would love to look out at such a lovely camellia bush. How Spring of it. Here in Florida, I have hibiscus that I look at out my window and it blooms all year. I am envious of your pink as this hibiscus is coral (which I love too). For some reason we planted our pink hibiscus beside a yellow one at the far end of my Secret Garden and I only get to view it if I meander around. LOL. And to answer your question, no, I do not think your table is too bright. It is perfect with the AC tablecloth capturing that English country garden look and your coppery pink accents. I would come sit and sip with you anytime. Hugs and Blessings my friend 🐇🐥🐑🩷
Hibiscus are so beautiful Kari – I’m glad you have some, even if you do have to meander a bit! I had a whole hedge when I lived in Arizona and I loved it! Thanks for your sweet comments – I love sharing a hop with you!
