Hello and welcome to our stylish spring dinner party table! When I host a dinner party in spring – especially early spring – I like to make the table look particularly springy! (With pastel colors and lots of spring flowers, this table would be perfect for Easter too.) We’re all so ready for some pretty freshness!
1 – A Warm and Unique Tablecloth
The first secret to making a stylish spring dinner party table, is the tablecloth.
I don’t know how the springtime temperatures go where you are, but they can be pretty chilly in the Pacific NW! So a lovely throw blanket for a tablecloth works really well! The white is fresh enough for spring, but also warm and cozy.
The texture is so fun and different too – something unexpected to surprise our guests.

This one wasn’t big enough to fit the entire table, so I put it at an angle that left the corners of the table uncovered. I like this technique and I use it a lot, like in this recent Valentine’s table post. Especially, I like how it makes the table a bit more casual and friendly. Besides, it lets me use the tablecloth I want even though it doesn’t fit the table exactly!

2 – Spring Dinner Party Table Napkins
There are so many fun ways to fold a napkin! This one isn’t even really folded, it’s more knotted. But the thing that makes it seem springy to me is that it reminds me of bunny ears!

If you want them to look even more like bunny ears, you could pull the “ears” up to the top, and put the knot toward the bottom. I might try that if I had kids at the table, but since I’m going for stylish here, I’ll stick with the very subtle bunny vibe!
It’s hard to tell in these pictures, but the napkin is a very soft blushy pink. Just another subtle element in the mostly white table.

3 – Sparkly Pink Candles
Candles are lovely on a spring dinner party table – or any dinner party table! And these are particularly fun!

I can’t remember where I found them, and I couldn’t find any others with the same sparkle, but any pink tapers are perfect! Again, they’re an unexpected touch to keep your guests surprised.

4 – Spring Dinner Party Table DIY Salad Plates
Now for the coolest thing on our spring dinner party table is these salad plates! I made them myself in about 15 minutes with glass salad plates, tissue paper, and Aleene’s Tack it Over and Over glue.
(If you don’t know about Aleene’s, you’re going to love it!! I made a DIY video all about it a while back, which you can see in the post Do You Want a Fabulous Solution to Two Classic Table Setting Problems?)

I came up with the concept in response to a couple statements I hear all the time whenever I tell people what I do.
Here’s a closeup of one of the plates.

Unless your guest actually picks up the plate and looks at the underside, they’d never know it gets its design from the tissue paper on the bottom.

And unlike putting the tissue on with Mod Podge or something permanent, you can just wash the paper right off after dinner! You can make a different plate for every table, and you only have to store one set of dishes!
I could go on about it forever, but I’ll stop now and you can get all the details in the video.
The accent plates give just the right amount of spring color to the table.

5 – Bright Spring Tulips
But to me, the springiest thing is the flowers! Nothing says spring like tulips, and they can be so free-form and exuberant!
You know how tulips keep growing even once they’re cut and in water? These outgrew their vases, but I just love the carefree spill of flowers and foliage. If I’d wanted to tidy them up a bit, I could’ve cut the stems a little shorter so the edge of the vase would hold them more vertically.
But only a little – tulips gonna spill!

Even by candlelight, they look beautiful – all ready for people to sit down at our spring dinner party table and enjoy!

Just beautiful and it makes me want to set a spring table too! Happy Thursday and thanks for all the wonderful inspiration my friend!
Your table is beautiful Barbara. I love the soft pink hues. It’s the perfect shade. I’ve used the glass plate hack and it’s great! Hope the warm weather gets to you soon. XO- MJ
