Happy Holidays and welcome to my gold and brown mantel! My color scheme this year was – you guessed it – gold and brown. You can see the tree in My Luxurious Chocolate Brown and Gold Christmas Tree, and this mantel uses the same colors. Only with more gold.
It’s almost midnight as I type this so I’m not going to say too much about it – I’ll let the pictures do the talking! And if you want more info about anything, just let me know in the Comments below. I may update it a bit later and include the things you’re curious about.
I was really happy with the way the gold and brown mantel turned out. I hope you like it too! Here we go!
The whole gold and brown mantel
Here’s the view of the whole mantel. I used some greenery, my gold garland, and just a few white roses as well as my luscious chocolate brown ribbon.
Gold candle holders and fabulously chocolate brown candles were lovely! I can’t believe I didn’t get any pictures of them lighted!
The stocking bar!
I learned this trick of hanging a curtain rod from the back of the mantel to hold the stockings from Diane at South House Designs! She knows all about stockings and how to display them.
Oh, I used some crystal garlands too. I love them! They came from Pottery Barn years ago and I haven’t been able to find any more, even on Etsy. I’ll keep my eyes open though and link them if I find them again.

The little extras
In this picture, you can see the little replica of our house that our neighbors made for us a few years ago. I just love it, and it looks especially cozy at Christmas!
I hung an extra gold ornament on each side to add just a bit more sparkle to our gold and brown mantel!

Barbara, your mantel is so pretty. I remember the one you did in my art room a few years back and it was so stunning. Love the idea of the curtain rod…brilliant.
