One of the most fun things about our annual fall party is choosing the fall party decor and food! Of course the MOST fun thing is getting to see all our friends! But I do love to decorate and share some good food too.
The Fall Party Decor Inspiration
The fall party decor started with these beautiful linens I had recently gotten. They’re so lovely and the color is completely fall. A perfect russet.
I also found this gorgeous chocolate brown satin ribbon that I wanted to use too. And as I went along, the other browns and tans just suggested themselves.
Here’s my inspiration picture. I found these gorgeous light tan and coffee-colored roses at the Portland Flower Market and just couldn’t resist them! Then add some fall leaves, some white marble, and some gold, and we’re set!
Adding Some Height to the Table
The marble in question was some tiles that I’d gotten a long time ago. They were just sitting in the basement waiting for the perfect use, and this was it. I used Museum Putty to stick the tiles to these lovely gold glass vases, and they made perfect stands for candles and flowers above the food. It’s nice to get some extra height if you can, especially at a serving table.
I put some faux fall leaves around the bottom to make it extra fall-like.
Here you can get the whole effect.
A Grazing Board with the Fall Party Decor
I’ve been loving the grazing table concept, and I’m so glad it’s still in style! This year, I moved it off the main table to the sideboard. Here you can see how I set it up. I put a piece of plastic tarp on the buffet to protect it from any mess and moisture, then set up my boards. We always wash them well then protect them with food grade wax before we put any food on them.
While I was at the flower market, I found this long gold flower tray that was the perfect size for the back of the grazing board. I did the criss-cross floral tape method and just put the flowers in randomly.
Here’s a little closer view.
I just LOVE those coffee-colored roses, and I thought they looked great as fall party decor on the grazing table.
The Grazing Board with Food
And here’s the board with food on it! I thought it was kind of fun that the flowers almost seemed to blend into the food. The whole board added to the fall party decor!
Here’s a little closer look. I love grazing boards because I can just go to Trader Joe’s and get all my favorite things.
Mantel Decorations
I kind of ran out of flowers by the time I got to the mantel, but that was ok, since I had that gold garland I wanted to use.
The rest is faux fall leaves and that lovely chocolate ribbon.
And I was so happy that I found these great brown candles! They didn’t drip at all except when a big breeze blew in. The only weird thing was that they had apparently been sprayed in transit with some chemical-smelling thing, which was really icy. I put them outside for the week before, and when I brought them back in, they were fine.
Fall Party Decor Main Food Table
Here’s what the main food table looked like with actual food on it! You can see how the fall party decor stayed out of the way raised up like that, and the food was more available below.
And Remember the Helpers!
I’m so grateful for our helpers! It’s so nice to be able to enjoy my own parties more, knowing that all the little things will be taken care of by someone other than me!
I hope you’re enjoyed this quick look at our fall party decor and food! Throwing a party is always so much fun that I don’t get as many pictures as I’d like!
Drop a comment down below and let me know what you think, and how you’ve decorated for your own parties! Thanks so much for sharing this one with me!
