This is going to be a very short post, but with this fabulous strawberry mousse, you’re not going to want to wait around and read a lot anyway! You’re going to want to hop right up and go make it!

Strawberry Mousse on the Menu
I served this dense, creamy, complex, heavenly strawberry mousse at a dinner party a while ago, which you can read about in the Pretty Spring Tablescape post. As you can see, there were also strawberries in the salad, so it was the perfect way to carry the flavor forward and cap off the dinner. (And please excuse the misspelling on the menu. My story is that my finger slipped, and I’m sticking to it!)

It was just the right size, too, in these lovely crystal dessert dishes. You know how sometimes your host serves you a wonderful dessert, but there’s so much that you feel too full afterward? It’s so nice to serve your guests something small – just enough strawberry mousse in this case – to give them a little taste, but not make them feel obligated to eat too much.
Of course, I ususally have extras just in case someone has more room and really does want to have seconds!
This Strawberry Mousse is SO Easy to Make!
And it’s not just hype that it’s wildly easy to make! This strawberry mousse has only five (5!) ingredients, and four of them go directly into the blender or food processor. While those are blending up, you whip some cream, then fold them together.
Chill them in the fridge for a few hours, or overnight, garnish with whipped cream and a strawberry, and you’re all set for dessert! If you can hold out that long!
If you’d rather have something other than strawberry, any fruit spread or jam will do. But I have to put in a plug here for the St Dalfour Strawberry Fruit spread. Oh my! It is just delicious! They only use natural fruit juices from near Bordeaux France to sweeten their berries, and it shows. One taste, and you’re transported to a summer day in the vineyard garden! Absolutely the best spread/jam I’ve ever had! And the complexity directly influences the mousse. Glorious!
Moscato d’Asti
I served it with some Moscato d’Asti, an effervescent white dessert wine from Italy. The Moscato was light and bouncy enough to set off the richness of the mousse, and they complemented each other really well.

minutesThis really is a fabulous and wildly easy recipe! It’s dense and creamy with deep complex flavors, mostly due to the St Dalfour Strawberry Fruit Spread. Other spreads or jams will give you just slightly different tastes. This is based on a recipe I first saw on DessertForTwo.com. Truly one of the best and easiest desserts I’ve ever made!
Ingredients
1/2 Cup Strawberry Fruit Spread or Jam (St Dalfour preferred)
1/4 Teaspoon Salt
1/3 Cup Sour Cream
3 Oz Cream Cheese, softened
1/2 Cup + 4 Tbs Heavy Cream
2 Fresh Strawberries, sliced in half
Directions
- Combine the fruit spread, salt, sour cream, and cream cheese in a blender or processor.
- Puree until smooth.
- In a separate bowl, whip the cream just until soft peaks form. It should still be smooth.
- Remove 4 Tablespoons of the whipped cream into a snugly closing container and refrigerate for garnish.
- Fold the blender mixture into the whipped cream.
- Scoop into four small dessert dishes.
- Cover tightly with plastic wrap and put into the refrigerator. Chill for 1-2 hours or as long as 2a day or so.
- Remove from the fridge and garnish with the reserved whipped cream and sliced strawberries.
Notes
- This glorious mousse can be made with any fruit flavor. Just substitute any fruit spread or jam for the strawberry spread, and garnish with whatever strikes your fancy!

YUM that looks so good. I love the wine bottle with the coaster. Someone fairly recently commented on mine and called it something other than a coaster. Who and What! Will let you know. Happy Easter to you and your family Barbara. Hopefully, you are enjoying all the Spring flowers/cherry blossoms. Amazing.
Hi Janice! Was it “saucer?” That’s the only other name I’ve heard the wine coaster called, but there are always lots of terms for anything so I’m curious what your friend called it. Happy Easter to you too my friend. Hope it’s wonderful!
