Welcome to a spring garden tablescape for the Spring Tablescape blog hop! Thanks so much to Rita from Panoply for hosting and organizing us all so well! If you’re here from Shannon’s lovely table, I’m so happy you’re continuing the tour. And of course, whether you’re an old friend or a new one, I’m thrilled to have you!
There’s nothing that says spring to me like a basket full of yellow, pink, and multicolored tulips. And this beautiful mix, with cottage roses (or peonies,) tea roses, and alstromeria is a perfect centerpiece for a spring garden tablescspe.
The Spring Garden Tablescape Flowers
This was just about the easisest centerpiece ever! I just went to the grocery store, and chose the flowers that looked like spring to me! A big plastic tray in the bottom of the basket holds water, and the arrangement couldn’t be simpler.
To do it for your own spring garden tablescape, just trim the bottoms off the flowers, (at an angle, of course,) then choose the longest ones. In this case the alstromeria. Split the batch in half, and lay one half on either end of the basket with their stems in the water.
Choose your next flower type, and repeat. Cut each batch a little shorter than the one before, and snug them in on top. By the time you get to the cottage roses, you can cut them pretty short, and stick them vertically in the middle of the basket. All the previous stems hold them in wherever you want them.
Voilà!
The Tablecoth
Under our beatuiful basket of flowers, we have a warm ivory matelasse coverlet. This piece does double duty at our house all the time, and it feels perfect on the table for spring. Because even though the flowers are starting to bloom, it can still be plenty cold outside. This feels fresh and warm at the same time.
The Plate Stack
Chargers
These rose gold chargers are so pretty on any table, but work especially well on this spring garden tablescape. Their lovely pink sheen accents the flowers, and the metallic shine warms up the table.
These chargers are heavy, sturdy plastic, and wash up like a dream.
Plates
I’ve talked about these beautiful Noritake plates before – you can read the pretty funny story of how I got them in Five Simple Steps to a Luxurious Fireside Table for Two. Their creamy ivory background goes so well with the table covering, and the flower pattern is definintely springy!
The Flatware
I love this coppery rose gold flatware! It’s such an intresting shape, and has such a satisfying heft.
Plus the knives are particularly excellent at cutting. (I know that sounds a little silly, but you’ve probably tried to use some table knives that didn’t cut very well. I know I have!)
These blades are relatively small, so I wasn’t sure at all how they would work, but I actually prefer them to several of the other flaware sets I have. I’ve even used them for steak before, and they worked great!
The Spring Garden Tablescape Glassware
Water Glasses
These are my go-to water glasses. In fact, I was trying to find something else to use the other day – for once, I didn’t feel like all that sparkle! – and I realized we don’t actually own any other regular water glasses! I guess that attests to how often I want sparkle!
Anyway, these are strong and heavy and beautiful on a spring garden table – or any table!
Champagne Flutes
These are the champagne equivalent of the water glasses. A beautiful heavy cut crystal pattern, they’re so luxurious to drink out of. And of course, lovely on the table.
The Napkins and Rings
Napkins
I got these napkins from a dear friend, and I just love their delicate pink color. They’re vintage, but these create the same beautiful effect.
Napkin Rings
These rings have a secret! The part we’re looking at, is actually the underside! I love using them this way, though – the plain ring is so elegant and understated. The real top is a copper leaf, and very beautiful in its own right. You can see it in this post, or in the picture below in the shopping section. You’re really getting two looks in one with these!
Putting it All Together for the Spring Garden Tablescape

Janet Lorusso says
What a gorgeous basket of flowers, Barbara! It just screams “celebrate spring” and I am ALL for it! Love the texture of the matelasse coverlet-as-tablecloth too!
Barbara Leone says
Thanks Janet – I feel a little like I should be skipping through a field of wildflowers with that basket on my arm! 😊 Are things starting to bloom at your house? Spring is so exciting once it gets going!
Maureen says
Barbara! You knocked it out of the park with your centrepiece! Really beautiful! Pink is such a classic spring color in my books. The rose gold chargers really bring out the pink in the pretty Noritake plates. Brilliant use of the napkin ring! The soft pink of the napkins compliment the each place setting so well. Using a coverlet was a great idea. I like that it does had texture and warmth to the table. A pleasure joining you in the hop and wishing you a Happy Easter!
Barbara Leone says
Thanks so much Maureen! I love pink in the spring too! 💗 Hope you’re having a lovely day – see you out and about!
Ann Krucek/Corner of Plaid and Paisley says

Mary says
Such a beautiful and bountiful basket of blooms Barbara! (how’s that for alliteration?) 😊 I love the texture and warmth from matelassé coverlet, rose gold chargers and flatware. Your Noritake plates have such pretty details and sweet flowers. So happy to hop with you again, Happy Spring!
Barbara Leone says
Ha! I love your alliteration, Mary! 🤣 Isn’t it fun to mix the cool and the warm? Just like our early spring – although you may be a bit warmer at your place. Always so fun to join you in the hops! Here’s to a lovely spring!
Sandra @ Dinner at Eight says
Ahhhh, the flowers! I love the whole tablescape of course, but the presence of the flowers dominate the tableau. Especially their bold colors against the ivory and pinks of the tableware! I always enjoy your tables with rose gold, but I don’t have any myself. Perhaps now I’ll find some! The texture of the coverlet adds such an interesting component. It’s wonderful to hop with you again!
Barbara Leone says
Hi Sandra! Yes we definitely have that love of flowers in common. I sometimes think even a white-paper-plate setting would be gorgeous with a vase of flowers in it! I was surprised how much I love the copper/rose gold , and how versatile it is – I bet you’d love it too! Always so fun to see you and your beautifu tables! Hope you have a wonderful spring!
Rita C at Panoply says
Barbara, what a pretty table you’ve set in the rose gold and rosy pinks you’ve chosen. The Noritake china and your stemware are classics, but I really like the chargers and flatware you’re using. Together with your florals, they give a relaxed vibe to dressier elements. The basket arrangement couldn’t be simpler, but oh, so stunning!
Thanks for joining the fun, and happy spring!
Barbara Leone says
I’m so glad you like it, Rita, and thanks so much for having me! You’re a wonderful organizer. It’s great to get this much inspiration all in one place – I seriously love it! Hope your spring is starting off well. See you around and about out there!
Kim says
Barbara, your basket of spring flowers is a stunning centerpiece for your table! The colors of the flowers you chose are so pretty and I love all the pinks, corals, and yellows. The Noritake chine looks perfect on the rose gold chargers and with the coppery rose gold flatware. I love the pale pink napkins and the copper napkin ring turned upside down lol. The ivory coverlet is a great backdrop for the table and sparkly crystal on the table is always good. A lovely table my friend. It was great hopping with you and wishing you a very lovely spring and a happy Easter!
Barbara Leone says
Haha – we usually find ways to get the look we’re after, right?! Even if we have to turn our stuff over – or inside out or backwards! 🤣 I always love hopping with you and seeing your beautiful tables – so glad we got to share this hop! Here’s to a lovely spring and Easter my friend!
Karin’s Kottage says
Gorgeous as always! Those Noritake plates are just so beautiful. Of course your fresh flower centerpiece just screams spring. I can’t get enough of fresh beautiful flowers this time of year. Really pretty table. So fun hopping with you 🥰
Barbara Leone says
Thanks so much Karin! I’m with you – there’s nothing like flowers in early spring to remind us winter is almost over! So fun hopping with you too! I’m off to see what beautifulness you’ve designed this time. See you in a minute!
Shannon@Belle Bleu Interiors says
Barbara, your floral arrangement is stunning! The Noritake china is so pretty paired with the copper chargers and flatware. The matelassé coverlet makes such a lovely underpinning for your setting. Your table is both beautiful and elegant. I hope that you have a happy and blessed spring!

Linda Primmer says
Barbara, your spring table is so pretty. The gorgeous florals look so pretty nestled in the basket, especially against your ivory matelasse coverlet. The Noritake china is beautiful against the rose gold chargers. Love the napkin rings, so smart to turn it over. The crystal glassware adds some sparkle, which I adore. A pretty table to celebrate welcoming spring.
Barbara Leone says
Hi Linda! Thanks so much – it’s so fun sharing this blog hop and getting so much inspiration like your darling bunnies! 🙂 Hope you have a lovely spring and Easter next weekend!

Barbara Leone says
Thank you so much Cecilia! And thanks for the IG shout out as well. I haven’t been over there much lately but visiting you made me realize how much I’ve missed it. I’ll have to work it back into the schedule soon! So glad you stopped by – it’s great sharing the hop with you. Happy Spring to you too!
Lynne says
That is an exceptionally beautiful basket of tulips and sets the scene for you lovely china and crystal. Using a quilt as a tablecloth is one of my favorite things to do. It gives such a cozy feel to the table even if the setting is a bit more formal. Noritake makes some beautiful patterns and this is one of them. The rose gold adds some nice warmth to the table and goes nicely with the basket. Such a beautiful way to welcome spring. Always a pleasure to hop with you. Happy Spring!
Lynne
Barbara Leone says
Hi Lynne! I know – isn’t it fun to use non-tablecloths on the table? So many options out there! And yes, Noritake has some of my very favorite patterns. Too bad I don’t have unlimited resources and space! 🤣 Always a pleasure to hop with you too my friend! Hope you have a wonderful spring and Happy Easter!
Jenna says
Your centerpiece is show stopping Barbara! I love the casual elegance of it and I like the way you kept the rest of the table low key so the flowers can really shine! The rosy glow from your place settings is so pretty and I do love your pretty flatware and crystal glasses. Thank you for sharing how you did the flower arrangement. Happy Spring!
Barbara Leone says
Thanks so much Jenna! I always feel like a story book character, with a basket of flowers! 🙂 Loved your bunny table btw – someday I might just show up on your doorstep and ask to sit at your beautiful entry table to soak up the artwork and sunshine! 🤣 Happy spring my friend! See you around the internet!
Pam Richardson says
Hello Barbara and Happy first day of Spring! The centerpiece basket filled with spring blooms is beautiful. I love the way the flowers drape across. The warm matelasse coverlet is the ideal foundation for your table with the rose gold chargers, Noritake china, and coppery rose gold flatware. An extra bonus that the knife will cut steak. I never tire of sparkly glassware, and yours is lovely. I always love an invitation to sit at one of your gorgeous tables! Wishing you a joy-filled spring!
Barbara Leone says
Haha! I just felt compelled to go to bat for that funny little knife! Happy Several-Days-Into-Spring now to you too – I can’t wait for our weather to warm up to what yours is. I always picture you sitting in your gorgeous garden a half a season ahead of me! So inspiring! 🙂 Thanks so much for stopping by – I’m always honored to share a hop with you!
Ricki Jill Treleaven says
You had me at “beautiful basket of tulips!” Tulips are our favorites. Today is our wedding anniversary, and our primary flower was white tulips (paired with orange blossoms). I love all the pretty rosy colors on your tablescape. Your plate stacks are stunning! Happy spring!
Barbara Leone says
Thanks so much and Happy Anniversary Ricki Jill! I love white tulips and orange blossoms – how gorgeous that must have been! Hope you have a lovey spring too! So glad you stopped by!
Patti @ Pandora's Box says
The first element that caught my eye. was the napkin ring – very clever to turn it over. It is simple and elegant! Your floral arrangement is lovely and certainly the star of the show! Happy Spring!
Barbara Leone says
Thanks so much Patti! Isn’t it fun how you can tweak things just a bit to get the look you’re after? 🙂 I’m so glad you stopped over – hope you’re having a lovely week so far!
Carol@Blueskyathome says
The fresh flowers in the basket are gorgeous, Barbara. I love how they lay down in the basket.
Barbara Leone says
Hi Carol! Thanks so much – you just can’t have too many flowers, right? Hope you’re doing well and enjoying our first day of spring!
Kari says
Barbara I love your table setting and your Noritake china is perfect with all the rosy hues of the flatware and chargers. I particularly like the story of the china and the “flowers all over” and how you ended up with the pattern you loved. The flatware is certainly unique but glad to hear the knife does just fine cutting steak, LOL
Your table is a lovely contribution to Spring. Happy Easter and stay warm by your fireplace. I have lived in old houses and while I love their vintage feel…not so much their drafty walls and doors and windows. (of course this coming from a gal who sleeps with a blanket and fan year round.) 🐰 🐇🐣 🐤 🌷💐💜
Barbara Leone says
Ha! I’m right there with you Kari – I have a huge fan and a huge blanket too! Hope you have a warmer spring down there my friend! 😊
