The really cool thing about this fall gold tablescape, is that it was a fall copper tablescape a few days before! I love anything I can repurpose, and this flower and candle centerpiece did double duty!
(It actually did triple duty, but I didn’t get any photos of the third one! It was pretty though!)
Fall Gold Tablescape Flowers
Thes gorgeous coppery mums were too irresistable at the grocery store. And I also found these stunning coppery roses! Sometimes the colors are so beautiful, you just have to get them and figure out how to use them when you get home.
Creamy white roses set them off beautifully. I always love seeded eucalyptus too. And they way it flowed out of these low container was just lovely.
A long skinny flower container makes an especially great centerpiece when you add in some candles. The long line down the middle of the table lets everybody get to see the flowers.
And the candles add some height without getting in the way. The crystal holders go with the water glasses, and the little peek of crystal from the flower containers.
Gold Placesetting
I set the fall gold tablescape for a visit from some wonderful friends who were coming through Portland on their way home. And what with one thing and another, I didn’t want to set a very time consuming or complicated table.
We served a pasta puttanesca, and really only needed one plate and one fork. Here’s a perfect example of setting only what you need. The charger just frames the plate and makes the setting look finished, I think. As I’ve mentioned several times before, I keep my chargers right in the dining room. So it’s never a big deal to pull one out and put the plate on it. And it make such a difference!
Fall Gold Tablescape Glassware
While I have lots of different wine and cocktail glasses, I really only have one set of water glasses. And the main reason is that these are perfect with everything! I even use them when I’m serving pizza out of the box!
My dad gave me a set of six to begin with, and I kept buying more every time we had a larger dinner table to set. I think the most guests I’ve ever had at a seated dinner was 18, so I know that at one point I had 18 glasses. And now I have 17.
With all the hard use these have gotten over 30+ years – including several teenager years – they’ve held up amazingly. Only one has broken in all this time. And look how beautiful they still are!
Cool Flatware & Napkin Rings
I’ve gone off about this fun flatware before, but it really is so cool! I have two sets – a copper one, and this gold. They’re heavy and solid feeling, and such a fun shape.
And another touch for the fall gold tablescape was these cool napkin rings. I’ve talked about them before too. Not only are the beautiful, but they’re interesting too because they’re made out of spoon and fork handles! Each one is different – I have 8 golds and 8 silvers.
These napkin rings come from some folks at the Portland Saturday Market, Spoonman Creations. They do a lot of other fun and funny things with flatware, but the napkin rings are my favorite. They don’t always have gold. But if you want some and you don’t see it on their website, you could give them a call and see if they have any.
I love these napkins. They’re heavy cotton and such a fun pattern. Unfortunately, I haven’t been able to find them anywhere for a long time. I put a link for some napkins with a similar pattern down below in the shopping section, though.
So there you have it – a second lovely table with the same centerpiece. It continues to amaze me how different things can look when you change out the things around them. Fall copper tablescape at night, fall gold tablescape in the afternoon.
I’d love to hear what you think. Are you setting fall tables these days? What do you do to make them “fall?” Let me know in the Comments, and thanks so much for stopping by! I love to share tables with you!

Lovely Barbara! I love to be able to set a beautiful table and then be able to tweak it just a little and easily change it into a whole new look for the next occasion. Your water glasses are beautiful and I am crazy over your flatware, I know you must get a lot of compliments. Have you heard of the flower spray that extends the life of flowers? It’s called Crowning Glory and it’s magic! You can get it on Amazon, I think you’d love it!
