Oh my gosh you guys – I’m just in love with this outdoor table setting! Aren’t those beautiful royal colors?
If you’ve already read the How To Set a Spectacular Citrus Tablescape post, you’ll remember how I ended up in this fabulous location. (If you haven’t read that one yet, you can click on the title above, and get all the details!)
This beautiful dining pavilion belongs to the lovely Renae at Peacock Ridge Farm, and we planned and set this tablescape together! Click here to read Renae’s post.
Our Outdoor Table Setting Started with Flowers
It all started, as is often the case, with the flowers. So there Renae and I were – at the Portland Flower Market at 5:30 in the morning! We had decided to get flowers for the citrus tablescape I mentioned above. But while we were there, we saw these gorgeous royal colored flowers and couldn’t resist.
I was especially excited about these particular colors because the wisteria on her pavilion was blooming! It was serious purple lushness, and the perfect backdrop for a royal purple outdoor table setting! Renae provided the white pitchers, and did most of the flower arranging.
An Outdoor Table Setting – Just Like an Indoor Table Setting
Sometimes it’s great to have a picnic on the grass or a camp out or another form of eating outside. But if you’ve got a regulation table and chairs, it’s wonderful to do an outdoor table setting that’s just like an indoor one. Only out in the fresh air!
That’s what we did here in Renae’s beautiful pavilion, which already has a lovely table, ready to go.
If you don’t have a permanent dining area in your yard, never fear! It’s fun to find a spot that can accommodate a table and chairs. I don’t have one, but whenever I want to eat outside, my husband helps me move a table and chairs out onto the patio.
You can also find a different beautiful spot to do your outdoor table setting. For instance, I once took a portable table and chair to the park for a lovely pizza dinner! It was so much fun! But back to our purple table!
The Place Settings
We used basically the same place settings as our earlier table, except we switched out the chargers. These gold ones were so elegant. Renae and I both had gold and white dishes, so we alternated them around the table. We combined our flatware and glasses as well.
Here’s one of the place settings close up. Renae put a little faux fern on each napkin to carry through the greenery from our beautiful flowers.
Regal Gold Candlesticks
Once you get the Royal concept in your mind, everything looks like it could be used by a queen! Aren’t these candlesticks regal? They’re the perfect touch to finish off this lovely tablescape.
A Picture Says a Thousand Words – or something like that!
I know that’s a cliché, but I’m going to let the pictures tell the rest of the story. And if you have any questions at all about our royally colored outdoor table setting, just drop me a note in the comments! I lover to hear from you! Enjoy!

Absolutely love the colours that you chose for this beautiful tablescape and Renae’s pavillion is gorgeous especially with the Wisteria in bloom. Watched the video of Renae at Peacock Ridge Farm, I am sure her guests were ‘that WOW factor’. Also enjoyed the Picnic time in the park for one. Great job. Looking forward to your St. Patrick’s Day blog.

Hello Barbara! Her outdoor pavillion is incredible and wow… the wisteria!!! I love that you both photographed the same table but your perspective is different. Really beautiful job, well done!!!

Hi Barb! So sweet of you to stop over! I was just thrilled to work with Renae after admiring her blog all this time. You’re right – her place is fabulous, and that wisteria was too beautiful to pass up the opportunity to take a billion photos of it! 🙂 I either didn’t know or didn’t remember that you host a link party – I’ll stop over there and check out all the goodness! Happy Weekend!
Rachelle says
Really, really stunning, Barbara. It’s the kind of table that you see in magazines. You and Rena did a splendid job and taking advantage of the blooming wisteria was the smart thing to do. I like my bright and brilliant colors and this table is all that and more!

Barbara, this tablescape is gorgeous. You and Renae created a magical space. I didn’t know you two lived close by. The colors, flowers, and tableware are awesome.. What an amazing place she has for dining. I’d love to have a meal with you all. Thank you for sharing at TTA.

This is so elegant! I dream of an outdoor pavilion for dining! What is the little pink berry hanging from the arrangement? It is the perfect touch. Also, I am unable to locate the pin in the photos. Where should I find the symbol? Thank you for this beautiful table!
Barbara Leone says
Hi Susan! I’m so glad you like it! The berries are pink peppercorns. I agree they are so fun – they’re one of my favorites! About the Pinterest buttons, usually if you hover over the picture, the pin icon appears in the upper left. I’ve seen this problem before though. It often has something to do with your browser. I just googled to see if I could find an answer, but didn’t come up with anything right away. The info’s got to be out there somewhere though. If I come up with anything later, I’ll let you know but good luck in the meantime! Thanks so much for stopping by!
Susan Gentry says
Thank you very much. Pink peppercorns! I’ll be on the lookout for them for future arrangements. I always like something beautiful draping down from my centerpiece. It gives it a softer look, I think. Happy Forth of July!
Barbara Leone says
You too! 🙂

Simply stunning ladies, and as you say, fit for royalty! Love the purple with the green; the setting is gorgeous and must be so inspiring. Beautiful! As an aside, I’m curious as to how everyone is faring in the midst of the heat dome in the PNW? Its absolutely suffocating here in Calgary lol…
Barbara Leone says
Kim you are so sweet – I’m so glad you like it! We’ve had a tough couple days with the heat, but it’s better now and even rained a bit last night! I bet you’re just as hot if not worse being more in the middle of the country. The weather sure is weird these days! Thanks for checking in, and take care up there!

Hi Denise! Aren’t those colors great together? I would never have thought to do purple, but Renae’s wisteria was a total inspiration! I’m so glad you like it. I’ll have to make a trip to DC and we can set one in your pavilion someday! 🙂
