Don’t you love a romantic Valentine’s tablescape? This year, I’m going to set mine with romance. And just a touch of color!
Peach and Blush Flowers Make a Romantic Valentine’s Tablescape
This tablescape isn’t overtly Valentine’s, and there’s not a heart in sight. But that doesn’t mean it can’t be romantic. The beautiful colors in the flowers can do that almost all by themselves.
I found all these different flowers at Whole Foods, and they inspired the rest of the table. And seriously, aren’t those blush lilies gorgeous? I’ve never seen them with so many beautiful petals.
And the peach and blush ruffled roses are amazing! I can’t wait to see how they look when they open up, and I hope I can find them again later.
White hydrangea and blushy alstroemeria round out the arrangement.
We got this lovely urn from SIL (my sister-in-law) and BIL (her talented husband) a while back, filled with gorgeous holiday flowers.
I’ve always wanted a vase like this, and I’m so happy to be able to use it for my romantic Valentine’s tablescape! (I also used a cube of floral oasis foam in it, which was new for me. I’ll be experimenting more with that later.)
Beautiful Blush Linens
I’ve mentioned my beautiful blush linens before. Honestly, I was so excited when I got them, that I wrote a whole post about them!
And for our romantic Valentine’s tablescape, they’re the perfect touch of color and texture.
I took the middle leaf out of the table for a cozier feel. But even when the table is at full length, this runner is plenty long enough to drape beautifully over the edges.
I gently tied the napkins to create the final bit of color and texture in the bowls. (A lover’s knot?)
China for the Romantic Valentine’s Tablescape
I might have told you before about my new set of white china. But my memory is now about as sharp as a wet noodle, and I don’t remember. So if you’ve heard this before, just skip along to the next section.
So, a while ago SIL called and asked if I could provide a good home for her friend’s inherited china. Because that’s not even really a question for me, of course I said YESYESYESYESYES!!! It’s also my favorite color combination – white on white!
Thanks to SIL’s very kind friend, I now have a full dinner party’s worth of gorgeous dishes! I don’t even know the purpose of some of them. But I’m going to find out and/or use them however I want anyway! So be on the lookout for those in future posts.
Our romantic Valentine’s Tablescape only uses the dinner plate, salad plate, and soup bowl. But the lovely shape and texture makes me so happy!
Stemware and Flatware
There’s a lot of “ware” on a table, and it always makes me feel grown up to say “tableware.” (You’d think the novelty of feeling like a grown up would have worn off after all these years … )
ANYway, the flatware is my relatively recent purchase of something modern. I love the matte finish, and the pieces work really well with the flowers.
The stemware is my favorite crystal – water and champagne glasses. I got the flutes at a thrift store for hardly anything. It’s amazing what you can find out there!
Future Menu and Recipes?
I have a really delicious menu planned out for this tablescape. If you’re interested in that, let me know and I’ll post the menu and recipes.
In the meantime, I hope you’ve gotten some romantic Valentine’s tablescape inspiration. And since this tablescape isn’t strictly Valentine’s, maybe you got some inspiration for regular entertaining too!
Thanks so much for visiting – hope your upcoming February is lovely!
