Hello Dear Readers, and Welcome to the last post of the year – the Top 10 Favorites of 2020!
We all know what we think of 2020 in general. But even through it all, there’s so much to love! I learned so much, met SO many amazing people, and deepened connections in ways I never could have dreamed.
Thank you for being such a major part of the things that were wonderful this year. I’m so glad you’re here!
Top 10 Favorites ~ Tables & Teacups
And now – the Top 10 Favorite posts in 2020!
Tablescapes and teacups were the backbone of your Top 10 Favorites this year. (My husband joked that I should change the blog name to Tables and Teacups! I don’t think I’ll do that though, I don’t want the mantels to feel left out!)
#10 – Teatime in Texas! The Traveling Teacup ~ Stop #4
I think we all loved The Traveling Teacup this year! The post that started it all, is up a little further on the list. But this stop with Candace at Unfolding Beautiful is your #10 favorite, and it’s easy to see why!
#9 – Tea Time! 10 Easy Steps to Throw a Jane Austen-Inspired Tea Party
This one was so fun! I guess a lot of you must love Jane Austen – or tea parties – or both – as much as I do, because this post comes in at #9. It’s a lovely, fun, easy way to entertain!
#8 – The Exciting Beginnings of The Traveling Teacup
And here’s where it all started! Our little Tessa Rose Teacup has been all over the country and even to Canada! What began as a little photography challenge back in May, has grown into a wonderful travelogue.
The teacup hosts’ lovely photos and fun stories always entertain us. And as we follow along, we’re making new friends too. #8 of your Top 10 Favorites!
#7 – The Traveling Teacup Visits a Farm ~ Stop #1
Oh my – wasn’t this one fun? It was our teacup’s first stop, and how about those cows?! This is such a wonderful post. It’s no wonder it’s your #7 in the Top 10 Favorites!
#6 – A Christmas Tablescape with Roses and Pepperberries
And at #6, we have my Christmas table from 2019. It’s such a bold red, and so lovely with the copper and bright whites. Apparently, we all needed something festive this year, what with one thing and another. Check out the salad plate place cards too!
#5 – Don’t You Love a Terrific Red Fall Tablescape?
Obviously I had red on the brain this year, and you all seemed to be behind it too, because this terrific red tablescape came in at #5! This table has so much cozy texture – including those fuzzy wooly lamb’s ears in the centerpiece. More salad plate fun too!
#4 – State Fair Tablescape Competition #1 ~ Planning
I was surprised how many of you loved the tablescape competitions. Enough to make this post #4 in the Top 10 Favorites! I grant you, it’s kind of a weird competition, but SO much fun! I’m always just so glad that the goats, sheep, and/or cows never get inside the tablescape display area!
#3 ~ 10 Easy Creative Tips for Christmas Ornament Storage
Yaay for organization! Someday I want to have fancy specially-designed plastic Christmas Decor storage for everything. But that’s pretty expensive. So while I’m saving up my money, these tips work really well.
I guess they have for you all too, because this post is #3 in the Top 10!
#2 – Social Distancing Dinner Party ~ 10 Ways to Keep It Safe
That the Social Distancing Dinner Party post is #2, doesn’t surprise me at all! I think we’ve all missed entertaining our friends and sharing a meal. Waving and raising our voices across the streets just doesn’t cut it.
Since publishing this post, I’ve put out a handy Safe Face to Face checklist, which you can get from the Member’s Library. If you’re not a member yet, you can join when you get there. So feel free to grab that. It’s so reassuring to know there’s a way to see our friends and still stay safe!
#1 – How To Set a Beautiful Formal Table ~ It’s Easy!
And now, M&T readers’ number one favorite post in 2020!
With so many of us at home this season, I think we wanted to make our tables extra nice. Of all the top 10 favorites, this was far and away the most-read post on Mantel and Table this year. It’s a step by step guide to setting a formal table, and it even has a handy diagram to print out. This post really does make table setting easy. And beautiful!
Thank You for Sharing 2020, and Happy New Year!
I’m honored that so many of you shared part of your year with me here at Mantel and Table! Thank you SO much – I’m truly grateful to have met so many of you, virtually, through our shared love of all things beautiful!
So here’s to more safe gatherings, lovely tables, organized ornaments, and traveling teacups in 2021! Take care my friends and Happy New Year!
