Hi All – I thought I’d try my hand at a tiny fall wreath for the next installment of “There’s No Place Like Home” Autumn Blog Hop!
Rachelle at My Hubbard Home is graciously hosting once again, and our theme this week is Wreath & Door Decor.
If you’re coming over from the very talented Chloe at Celebrate and Decorate, Welcome! And if you’re coming from anywhere else, Welcome too!
Be sure to check out all the great door decor ideas in this hop. The link to the next stop will be at the end of the post, so be sure to scroll all the way down.
A Tiny Fall Wreath For a Tiny Cellar Door
We have a tiny outside door to our cellar, that’s always been neglected. I’m not exactly sure how it ended up so oddly small. But there’s a lot we don’t know about this old house!
My husband has repaired and redone it several times. So at least we can keep most of the wind and rain out now!
So when I decided to make a fall wreath, I thought I’d make a special tiny one for that door. Just to make it feel included – you know.
An Embroidery Hoop for the Round Part
I used to embroider a lot, and it seemed like I always did more of it in the fall. Cooler weather had me inside by the fire more – the perfect place to do needlework.
So anything embroidery always makes me think of fall. Perfect, then, for the base to a fall wreath. A tiny one.
The screw makes an interesting inclusion as well.
Fresh Flowers for the Tiny Fall Wreath
I have to admit, I love fresh flowers but they’re only good for a little while out of water. I gave these grocery store blooms some fresh cuts and a good soak before I put them in the wreath.
Spraying them lightly with water might keep them fresher longer too. Just be careful you don’t spray while it’s hanging on something you want to keep dry! (Not that I’ve ever done that, but if I had, I would warn you against it!)
My lovely neighbors ended up with this tiny fall wreath, and the blooms were still holding up wonderfully after several hours. I don’t know how long they lasted in the end.
If you make one of these yourself, you’ll probably want to use faux flowers so it’ll last.
Aren’t they pretty though?
I’m really having a love affair with peachy orange and pink this fall. See this post for more of that.
Seeded Eucalyptus
And I also love seeded eucalyptus. It’s so pretty, and it adds so much to any arrangement.
On this fall wreath, it creates movement and helps kind of outline the hoop.
Brown Satin Ribbon
I don’t know about you, but I always love a pretty satin ribbon. I think this one originally came from a box of chocolates! All the more reason for me to love it!
Gratuitous Photos of the Tiny Fall Wreath, and Tiny Door Too!
That’s really about all I have to say about the tiny fall wreath. It was so super simple to make. Here’s the ridiculously easy tutorial.
In the meantime, here are a few more photos that have nothing to do with anything. Except to look pretty and let you see it from other angles!

Barbara, after seeing this on IG, this is SO different and makes so much more of a statement when you see it hanging on the whole door. This fall wreath is absolutely darling! I love how simply yet gorgeous it is! And that the colors are a subtle hint towards fall rather than the in-your-face bright oranges of typical fall decor!

Debbee M says
Lovely! I can almost smell its lovely fresh scent from here in Pittsburgh. Never heard of seeded eucalyptus before — so pretty! When we were in Peru the wonderful scent of eucalyptus, which grows everywhere, was every present. Came home and had to go buy some, I missed the scent so much.
Barbara Leone says
Hi Debbee! I love that eucalyptus scent! The seeded type doesn’t have a very strong one at all, but it’s so graceful in arrangements. Wow – a trip to Peru must have been wonderful! Thanks so much for stopping over! ๐

Barbara I’m trying to pin your picture but can’t see where to do that?
Barbara Leone says
Huh. Are you on a phone? If you’re on a desk device, you just hover in the top left corner and click the PIN button that appears. But I don’t know about mobile. I’ll do a little research and report back. Thanks for mentioning it!
Barbara Leone says
Hi again – Apparently if you’re on a phone, you need the Pinterest app.
If you’re on a non-mobile device, here’s a link to a Pinterest article about how to fix it. https://help.pinterest.com/en/article/trouble-with-pinterest-browser-button
Good luck – I hope it works!
Rachelle says
