7 Fruits ~ 4 Candles ~ 1 Lovely Peach Tablescape

So … I just had to set a peach tablescape! Why? Because I found out that August is Peach Month and today is National Eat a Peach Day!

These lovely fruits are one of my favorite things and I was thrilled that they had their own month and day! And when I saw all these gorgeous peach flowers, a peach tablescape couldn’t be far behind!

Peach Tablescape

It was dark by the time I got the table set, so the candles made it very romantic. Turned out to have kind of a still life painting thing going on, so I went with it!

Flower centerpiece

(I know it looks like the candles are too close to the flowers. But if you’re at all concerned, let me set your mind at rest. It’s really just the camera angles – there was plenty of room, and we never left the table untended.)

Peach Tablescape

Fruit for the Peach Tablescape

Peaches are just so pretty, aren’t they? Since it’s the height of the season, I had no trouble finding a nice sized bag of seven. Perfect for our cut crystal pedestal bowl.

Crystal bowl of peaches on table

I love old movies where they have a tall bowl of fruit at each person’s place. I don’t have enough for each setting, but one in the center works well too.

Glass of wine on table

Summer to Fall Colors

Depending on where we live of course, a lot of us are transitioning from summer to fall colors.

And this peach tablescape really does the job for me. The peaches scream summer. But the flowers lean more toward fall, especially with the dahlias.

plate stack

Couldn’t you see this table being fresh and cool outside in the summer? Or cozy and warm inside by a snapping fall fire? You’re set either way!

The Peach Tablescape Centerpiece

I really like smaller flower arrangements down the center of a table. For one thing, they’re so fun to make!

peach tablescape

The vases are actually gold mercury glass votive candle holders. They’re so inexpensive that you can get a large pack, and always have lots of options.

centerpiece of peach colored flowers

Especially when you have candles, they really sparkle. And using them for the centerpiece is so easy.

Peach tablescape from above

Just line them all up on the counter, fill about 3/4 of the way with water, and arrange them all at once. The beauty of this look is that it’s casual and natural. The votives are too small to get fussy with, so just put the flowers in at random.

Side view of table

I take the first kind of flower and put one in each holder, then continue on with the other varieties. Fill in with the carnations, and add the seeded eucalyptus at the end.

peach tablescape

I usually do this part after they’re on the table so I can see where we need some greenery and movement.

Flowers

For this table, I just looked at the grocery store for anything peach! Trader Joe’s had a great selection, and I found some really interesting ones.

These tiny peach calla lilies are so darling!

Closeup of peach colored rose

And keep your eyes open for the carnations. They’re kind of hard to see because they blend in so well, but they’re the most beautiful color! A lovely dusty peach – perfect to fill in the empty spots.

Pink and peach flowers, candle

I found some gorgeous deep peachy-pink dahlias. This is definitely the time to grab them at the stores.

And white roses of course, go with anything! But these gorgeous peach ones … ! Wow!

New Flatware

I saw a beautiful tablescape on Pinterest the other day, and the flatware really made the table. Having always wanted some “modern” flatware, I tracked these down and snapped them up! They were less expensive than I’d thought they’d be, and I’m so happy with them!

closeup of gold forks at place setting

They’re such a fun and interesting shape, and look so elegant on the table! They really give the setting a different feel than my more ornate gold flatware.

closeup of gold knife and spoon at place setting

I love the finish on them too – a kind of muted gold, which goes with everything! I ordered mine at Amazon and had them in my hands the next day!

Peach Tablescape Place Setting

The place setting itself was fun! I used my Noritake Shenandoah china, which I’ve always loved.

peach tablescape

Even though it’s more pink than peach, it tied in well with the flowers.

Pink flowered china and gold place setting

(Another example of how things don’t have to match exactly. Although I am definitely a matchy-matchy person, I like an eclectic mix too!)

Skinny Linen Table Runner

Before I tell you about the table runner, I just want to add a little aside here about my recommendations. I never promote anything on Mantel and Table that I wouldn’t use myself. Everything I recommend is something I really love and think you would enjoy – whether I get paid for it or not. That’s a promise!

And I really love this gorgeous linen table runner! (Here’s this picture again, so you can see how beautiful it is!)

It’s made by South House Designs, and I was lucky enough to get this one as a gift from the owner, Diane. She’s just added it to her fall line, and I’m in the group of bloggers and Instagrammers who get to introduce it! Which means you’re some of the first people to see it! I’m so happy she included us!

It has such gorgeous texture, and it gets softer with each washing. They have this same runner in a standard size, but this skinny one is so perfect for times when you want something a little more petite (ie: more room on the table!) You can use it in lots of other ways in your decorating too. Pop over to the Skinny Table Runner Blog Hop for lots of great ideas!

Two Kinds of Napkins

The napkins are two that I’ve gotten in the last year or so. The neutral linen ones were a gift from my brother and sister in law. They actually have a darling fall squirrel print on the other side. I can’t wait to do a table with the squirrel side out someday!

closeup of napkins on plate stack

The pink damask napkins were a gift from our wonderful neighbors not too long ago. They belonged to her mother. It’s so great to have things in your home that mean something to you!

Wrapped up together, I thought they epitomized my summer to fall vibe.

napkins in peach tablescape

Even though the napkins are two different colors, they’re both neutral and look beautiful in the candlelight.

Peach Wine for a Peach Tablescape

As I was setting my peach tablescape, my wonderful husband brought me a glass of rosé.

closeup of glass of rosé wine on table

The second I saw the gorgeous color, I knew it had to go on the table!

I usually don’t pour before we all sit down, but in this case, the wine completed the setting!

Miraval Rosé ~ A Celebrity Wine

This wine is special. Not only does it come in a beautiful bottle, with a spectacular color, but it’s made by celebrities!

glass of wine and Miraval wine bottle

Now I didn’t know that of course. (I’m lucky to know what’s going on in even the regular news!) And I’m not sure that being a celebrity necessarily qualifies you to make delicious wine.

closeup of rosé wine with peaches

But in this case, the celebrities in question are undisputed wine superstars, the Perrin family – and Joile-Pitt. Yup – the famous movie stars are part owners of the winery.

Miraval wine bottle and glass of wine

That’s pretty fun, but the best part of this wine is how it tastes! It’s one of my favorite rosés ever. Bright but stoney. Lemon, strawberry, and – peach! It’s a wonderful wine any time, and perfect for our peach tablescape!

Pouring a glass of wine from the bottle

Cheers! And Happy National Eat a Peach Day!

So here’s to peaches, flowers, candles, and rosé!

two hands toasting with rosé wine in glasses

I hope you all have a fabulous Eat a Peach Day! And there’s still enough time left of Peach Month to set your own peach tablescape!

Such a beautiful table so elegant. Love everything about it. Sad that we feel we have to update the cutlery, I do like vintage (I really like what you have now). I too updated mine not that long ago and gave my set (of 12) to my daughter (she probably wants the set I recently purchased). Will check out the Skinny Table Bog Hop you mentioned and will have to try the Miraval Provence Rose. Thank you for sharing.

Hi Janice! I know – I hate when something I love wears out and has to be replaced. But in this case, I was happy to have extra variety! 😊 And I’m sure your daughter likes what you gave her. (Plus vintage is so in style right now!) Thanks as always for stopping over – I love to see you here!

Hi Kim! I’m glad you love peach as much as I do – it’s a great color! I don’t know if you could really tell from the pictures, but the color of the carnations was so cool! I’d never seen it before, and since they last so long, we’ve been enjoying them all this time. If you find some you should snap them right up! 😉 Thanks so much for stopping by and Happy Tuesday! 💗

OMG! Barbara this is such a romantic and lovely table! I love everything peachy, and this made my day. I love everything about it. I particularly love the flowers and although they get a bad rap most of the time, Carnations are among my favorites flowers. Those are gorgeous and you did an excellent job with the pairing.
