Hi there – grab a cup of tea and let’s follow along with the further adventures of the Traveling Teacup! If you missed the background, you can read about our cup and its journey, in the original Traveling Teacup post.
After its first stop, Martha’s beautiful Oregon farm, it headed south to the San Francisco Bay Area, and the home of creator Cynthia Nessel of CreateWithCynthia.com!
Stop #2 ~ A Creator’s Desk
Cynthia lives in the small Northern California town of Belmont – located between San Francisco and San Jose.
A quick 677 mile trip for our teacup!
Our host is an inspired and innovative creator! You’ll love the Do It Yourself projects on her blog. And all her lovely vintage furniture makeovers for sale in her Etsy shop.
In fact, the desk we see in these photos is one Cynthia transformed from a vintage sewing cabinet!
Which brings us to our story about a morning cup of tea.
Daily Routines
We all have our daily routines. Granted, some of them have changed a bit with sheltering in place! But Cynthia made our teacup right at home, by including it in her new morning schedule. Here’s how she describes it.
I – and my pups – usually start the day with coffee. But when the traveling teacup arrived, we wanted a cup of tea!
My two pups, Sofy, a Cavalier and Oreo, a Havanese are always in tow.
Sofy looks pretty comfy to me. I’d love to have a snug little spot like that to watch the action!
And there’s Oreo guarding the traveling teacup – nobody’s going to make away with that cup of tea!
Morning Pages
Each morning I start my day with a cup of coffee, sitting at my Sewing Cabinet turned Desk Transformation, journaling. My journal is called Morning Pages and it allows me to get all the gunk in my head, onto paper.
It’s a daily practice I began when COVID struck, and it has helped me stay focused and centered.
Remembering Old Friends
I was so excited when the traveling teacup arrived. Because it gave me a chance to sit back and reminisce on my life.
I poured my cup of tea, sat at my Sewing Cabinet and reminisced about friends now, and friends I had in the past.
A Cup Of Tea With New Friends
It’s amazing how the internet has provided me with an opportunity to meet people. I now have a couple new friends whom I have never even met.
Each week I see and speak with them via Google Hangouts or Zoom, or maybe just a phone call. I look forward to the day when I will be able to sit down with these new friends and enjoy a cup of tea.
Teacups Bring People Together
And that’s what I love about the Traveling Teacup! Besides being so fun to follow along, it’s creating links between all of us – hosters and readers!
A million thanks to Cynthia for sharing her morning and musings and lovely photos with us! Her cup of tea reminiscences made me think of my old and new friends as well!
She wrote a post about the teacup’s visit too, so pop on over and tell her I said hi!
Onward to the Traveling Teacup’s Next Stop!
Cynthia has sent our little traveler on, and it’s already arrived half way across the country! Get ready to pour another cup of tea and tune in next time – our traveling teacup’s going to Kansas!
