I got this fabulous lilac gimlet recipe from my beautiful neighbor! She, her parents, and her equally beautiful sister bring us treats whenever they bake, cook, or concoct something delicious. (Yes, we live in the best place possible!) And this wonderful cocktail was no exception. She said she got part of her recipe from food52.com.
I promised my Instagram followers to post the recipe, so here it is! If you try it, let me know how it goes – I’d love to hear how you like it!
Lilac Sugar
Ingredients:
- Lilac blossoms, little stems removed
- Granulated sugar – equal in volume to blossoms
Steps:
Process the blooms and sugar in a food processor until blooms are completely broken down.
The sugar will be damp. Spread it on a baking sheet to air-dry completely, and stir occasionally to break it up. Dry time will vary with your conditions, but you can use it damp on the rim of your lilac gimlet glass!
