The Gift

My wonderful son never forgets my birthday! And this year he even remembered it early! I’m having a little staycation and he had this lovely box of daffodils sent to my hotel!

I was so happy to get them – they’re like a little breath of spring right on my table! Especially during this challenging time, gifts like this are such an extra kindness!

The Daffodil Tablescape

I have a gorgeous river view from my balcony. So I thought I’d make myself a little pre-birthday celebration by setting a lovely daffodil tablescape!

I’ve always enjoyed dragging my birthday out as long as possible, so I’m officially starting now!

Never Leave Home Without Your China

Since I did happen to take several pieces of china and tableware with me on my staycation, I was able to set this lovely table on my balcony.

Gold flatware

It’s so fun to set a nice table, even if it’s just for yourself. And for this little table, I wanted to use two of my favorite colors – white and gold.

If you love those colors too, I’ve linked all the elements of our daffodil tablescape at the bottom of this post.

Or Your Linens

I also brought one of my favorite tablecloths and some lovely white napkins.

One tip for packing a tablecloth is to roll it up lengthwise, then curl it into your suitcase. Mine came out almost wrinkle-free!

Packing The Crystal

Bringing the crystal along was a little more challenging! However, I wrapped each piece in a big cloth napkin, then laid them carefully between layers of clothes in my suitcase.

As long as nobody threw the suitcase around, (which they didn’t) we were good!

Then Enjoy!

I do truly love making a beautiful elegant space just for myself! And getting these sweet spring flowers was a perfect excuse. (As if I needed one, but you know what I mean!)

I hope you get some time to indulge yourself for a bit too! Maybe even set yourself your own daffodil tablescape!
