Hi and welcome to Teacup Tuesday, featuring this beautiful Moonlight Rose teacup! Some of the first spring flowers at my house are these little blue grape hyacinths. And they just happen to match beautifully with this lovely cup! So of course, I had to put them together for some pictures. Let’s begin our exploration with the Instagram post, as always.
Teacup Tuesday 10 March 2020

Hi Everybody! How about this beautiful blue pattern for Teacup Tuesday?! I just love how springy and dreamy it is, especially with some grape hyacinths from our yard. Pop on over to the blog for more info and interior imaginings with our Moonlight Rose teacup. (Plus isn’t Moonlight Rose a perfect name?) Just click the link in my profile or visit MANTELandTABLE.com. See you over there and Happy Tuesday!

Extra Moonlight Rose Teacup Tidbits

The name of our Moonlight Rose teacup is what inspired my decorating idea this week. I imagined sitting in a lovely summer house after dinner on a warm spring evening, drinking tea and watching the moon rise.

The summer house itself would be a light bluish grey, walls and floor. We’d be sitting on gold painted wrought iron settees with white slip-covered cushions and blue flowered pillows. As well as the velvety night sky, we could look through the screening at the dreamy blue flowers all around.

We could have this lovely blush voile draped over our tea table too! Ah I’m relaxing just thinking about it!
Manufacturer’s Info

I do love a piece of Royal Albert, because as I’ve mentioned before, they put their pattern names right on the backstamp! I’ve done a couple other Royal Albert Teacup Tuesdays, so if you want more info, check out the Turquoise Teacup post from a while ago.

As for our Moonlight Rose teacup, Royal Albert started making the pattern reasonably recently – in 1987. (Which they also tell you right on the bottom. They’re so very accommodating!) It’s actually the same design as their famous Old Country Roses pattern, which is probably still the best selling china pattern in the world.
Only the colors are different. Where OC Roses is yellow, pink, and burgundy, Moonlight Rose is blue with just a hint of blush. They don’t make the pattern anymore, but there’s still quite a lot of it around out there.
Moonlight Rose Teacup ~ Behind the Scenes

Another wonderfully uneventful – and actually very quick – photo shoot for our Moonlight Rose teacup. It was getting pretty cold when I went out on the porch with all my gear.

I did have to take my fuzzy pom pom socks off to go cut the flowers, and then my feet were wet. So I hurried even faster.
I know I broke my land speed record, because my tea was still warm when I sat down to drink it afterward!

Pin the Moonlight Rose Teacup for Later

This is such a beautiful pattern. I did recognized the similarity with the Old Country Rose original which I own. I tried to buy it at your store, the first time you showcased it, but it was not there. Hopefully, i will find it one day.In the main time enjoy your tea, and thank you for sharing.
Hi Edmee! I”m so glad you liked it! It was available at Replacements.com last time I checked – maybe it’s still there. Thanks for trying my site first! 😉 Hope you have a lovely rest of your Sunday!
