Welcome to the first Teacup Tuesday of 2020, and the lovely Royal Albert Silver Birch pattern! If you’re joining us for the first time, you might want to read THIS POST for background. Otherwise, here’s this week’s Instagram post to get us started.
Teacup Tuesday 07 January 2020
Happy Teacup Tuesday Everyone! We’re starting this new year with a bright light teacup palette. The same palette a lot of us use in our homes after the holidays, when the colored abundance might give way to some streamlined wintery freshness. This is a three piece set in the gorgeous Silver Birch pattern from Royal Albert. I like the three pieces because that means we’re going to get dessert! Come on over to the bog for more pictures and info. Click the link in my profile or visit MANTELandTABLE.com to celebrate the new year with a fresh new teacup.
Extra Silver Birch Teacup Tidbits
Isn’t the design beautiful on this one? Even though it’s not exactly exact, the edging reminded me of piano keys.
And then there’s the lovely woodland scene – with Silver Birches of course!
They inspired me to think of a music room with big floor to ceiling french doors looking out into a woodsy garden like this.
I imagine a beautiful white wood parquet floor, with Silver Birch colored inlay around the edges. White paneling on the walls. A deep white fur rug. The tall curtains would be crisp white and soft blue, and tied back to gold holdbacks. There would be lovely pale flowers!
Our musician’s chairs would be upholstered in soft white, as well. And the pièce de ré·sis·tance – a gorgeous glossy white grand piano!
Anyone who wanted to hang out and listen to the music could sit on lovely white velvet couches with the softest blush pink pillows. And of course, they’d use our Silver Birch dessert set for some tea and cookies!
Manufacturer’s Info
It was the Royal Albert China company that made our lovely Silver Birch teacup set. According to this very extensive website, Royal Albert made this pattern from the 1930’s through December of 2001.
I wrote a previous Royal Albert post, with lots of historical company info, if you’re interested. Click HERE for that one.
And as I mentioned in that post, I so love it when the pattern name is right there on the piece! Thanks Royal Albert!
Silver Birch ~ Behind the Scenes
There was nothing exciting or messy about this photo shoot – not like last time, HERE. My biggest challenge was getting a sunny day to take the photos!
However, once the sun did come out for a second, I quickly set up the folding table by the window.
My white Replica Surfaces panels are getting quite a workout these days – they’re so easy and pretty!
The beautiful cutwork tablecloth was a wedding gift that our dear neighbors brought back from their European travels. But we have some very similar ones here in the US, at this link for instance.
Since the set contains a dessert plate, I thought we needed some dessert! One of our same wonderful neighbors made these tea cookies, which I thought would be perfect for our Silver Birch.
I tried to sprinkle only a little of the powdered sugar!
Thanks so much for sharing this first teacup post of the new year! I’m so grateful for each and every one of you – for your comments, and questions, and for always being here!

Isn’t it so pretty? I hadn’t seen it either until a little trip to the antique store a while ago. It just begged to come home with me! 🙂 Thanks so much for stopping by Pam – it’s always so nice to see you here! 💗
