Mantel and Table Supports Habitat for Humanity
I’m so excited to tell you about a brand new program here at Mantel and Table – supporting Habitat for Humanity!
Now when you buy something wonderful from an M&T link, you contribute something wonderful as well!
Everyone Should Have a Home
We are so lucky! Most of us have not only mantels and tables – we have homes. We decorate them to reflect our personalities. Inside their walls, we create happiness, security, and contentment for our families, and extend gracious welcome to our friends.
However, not everyone can say that. So many people don’t have mantels or tables! They don’t have homes – of their own, or at all. Their families don’t have the comfort and permanence we have. For many different reasons, they’re trapped in cycles of instability and poverty, with nowhere to really call home.
Seriously, I almost hate to think about it! It’s overwhelming and the problem feels insurmountable. Plus, I don’t have a lot of time to volunteer, especially since my priority is my own family.
But wait – I can do something! Fortunately, there are already organizations out there that really are helping. And I decided to help them.
Partnership with Habitat for Humanity
So Mantel and Table started partnering with Habitat for Humanity!
I’m sure you know what a great organization Habitat for Humanity is. Their vision is a world where everyone has a decent place to live.
Habitat for Humanity knows that safe, decent and affordable shelter plays an absolutely critical role in helping families to create a new cycle, one filled with possibilities and progress. Affordable homeownership frees families and fosters the skills and confidence they need to invest in themselves and their communities. The outcomes can be long-lasting and life-changing.

Partnership with Proud Ground
Habitat has local branches, and also works with other organizations at the local level. Here in Portland, we have an amazing group called Proud Ground, that works on its own and with Habitat to provide affordable housing to people in our area.
“Owning a home is like the cornerstone of your life. There are times when I lay in bed and think, ‘What it will be like to still be here in 10 years, 20 years?’ Sometimes I wake up at night and still can’t believe it’s mine. Now, my children and grandchildren will always have a place to come home to.” Anita, Proud Ground homeowner #117

Shopping for Habitat for Humanity
I wanted to make it super easy to support this amazing cause, so we created a special shopping program.
For every purchase from a Mantel and Table link, 5% of the income will be donated to Habitat for Humanity and Proud Ground.
How simple is that? You get something lovely for your home, and help someone else get a lovely home! All from the convenience of a Mantel and Table shopping link.
The Shopping Page
Over the last year, I’ve had several readers tell me they want to buy something they saw in a Mantel and Table post, but can’t remember which post it’s in! Wouldn’t it be easier to have everything in one place, separated by category?
Of course, I totally agreed with that idea! Now, I’m in the process of putting everything that’s been linked in a post onto the Shopping page! You can click on whichever category you want and find things from the posts.
Check out the Shopping page and let me know what you think so far. M&T will be getting a little update soon, and I’d love to incorporate any of your feedback, observations, comments, or requests.
Thank You!
And finally, thank you! Thank you for shopping with Mantel and Table. Thank you for helping me support Habitat for Humanity. And most of all, thank you for being here to share inspiration for a lovely home!

Barbara, this is wonderful! I have a close friend that owns a HfH home, and she and her family are very blessed! I’ll be sure to do some shoping ( and hopefully buying) on your page!

Oh you’re so sweet Julie! That’s great that you know someone with a Habitat home. And it’s great that we can help a bit by doing things we already do! Even if you don’t buy the exact thing you click on, everything you buy in that visit counts! 🙂 Thanks so much for stopping by and supporting HfH! 💗

Having been involved with our local Habitat for Humanity for years and finally been able to contribute ourselves on a home build – we also know how important supporting this organization is. So pleased that you found a way to contribute, but also to do so as a community. Lovely post.

I love Habitat too! Someday I want to build a house with them – wouldn’t that be fun?! 🙂 Still working on the getting everything onto the Shopping page, but it’s won’t be too much longer! 💗 Happy Wednesday my friend!
