Welcome to six months of Teacup Tuesday! This lovely Wales teacup might look familiar – it was the star of my very first Teacup Tuesday post! And since it’s one of my favorites, I decided to come back to it for kind of a new TT twist. Which came about like this.
One day during a teacup discussion with my husband (we talk about teacups pretty often at our house,) he said “You should show the same cup in different settings.” Now there was a brilliant idea that had never occurred to me! So that’s what I’m doing this week. As always, we’ll start with the Instagram post.
Teacup Tuesday 10 December 2019
Welcome back to Teacup Tuesday! Isn’t it fun how if you move something – a teacup, say – from one setting to another, it makes you think of different things? Six months ago when I first posted this cup, I was thinking about dancing after dinner in a 1930’s Art Deco Fred & Ginger movie! But this setting makes me think about something else completely! Come for a visit to the blog and see what that something is! As always, just click the link in my profile, or go to MANTElandTABLE.com. Hope to see you there!
Extra Wales Teacup Tidbits
So let’s say it’s the holidays. You’ve just gotten home from an evening of dinner and dancing at an elegant Art Deco club. It’s fashionably late and you’re happily worn out.
I don’t know about you, but the thing I want to do most, is have a cup of tea in a warm bubble bath. THEN – heaven on Earth – slip into a lovely bed!
Of course, this would be a big luxurious four poster, with a little step to get up into it. It would have a quilted white velvet comforter, a gold satin skirt, and mounds of gold satin pillows. I’d have a marble topped bedside table for my Wales teacup and a pretty sprig of winter greenery. And a gently crackling fire would provide a cozy glow while I finished my tea and fell asleep dreaming of my lovely night!
Manufacturer’s Info
Sometimes there are lots of markings &/or stamps on a teacup or saucer. But this time, all we have is this one little sticker. I wasn’t able to find much info on Wales china, but what I did find is detailed in my first Teacup Tuesday post (featuring our Wales teacup) HERE. Or direct, HERE
Wales Teacup ~ Behind the Scenes
I had the No-Daylight-At-Home scenario again this week (just like last week!) However, I found another lunchtime wall at work to use for our Wales teacup pictures. Notice the attractive crane in the background!
The set up went fine, although I did mess around with adding some bright peachy roses, which I decided against. Anyway, I was doing just great until the wind started up! Here’s what happened.
I’m standing there, minding my own business, when a slight breeze rippled my satin.
Then a little more breeze and even more rippling …
Until – oops – hard to get a good shot when your subject is covered up! When I stopped laughing, I spoke sternly to the wind, and it eventually settled down!
So I was able to get this final photo of my lovely gold and white Wales teacup to share with you!
