Got the Last Minute Valentine’s Blues? Uh Oh – it’s really close to Valentine’s Day and you don’t have any little surprises for your special Valentines? Me either. But never fear – I have some ideas to help you (and myself) out!
Flowers
Of course, flowers (along with chocolates – I’m just saying… ) are the quintessential Valentine’s Day last minute gift. But they’re also a great last minute decorating touch. Even if you just put some beautiful flowers in the middle of the table, you’ve got instant romance! (Especially if they’re red or pink.)
For this arrangement, I just laid some lovely red and white tulips on a pretty little serving plate. They’ll last a few hours out of the water as long as they had plenty before. If you put them back in their vase right after dinner, they should be none the worse. And they’ll look gorgeous on the table.
Add candles, and your Valentine’s ambiance is complete. This Flowers-and-Candles idea works no matter what kind of dinner you’re having. Kids like “Special” dinners too!

I love to make and use printables! If you’ve been with me a while, you’ll remember when I started making them using my favorite graphics program, PicMonkey.
They can solve your last minute Valentine’s Day problem fast! And for free! All you need is a printer, and you can turn them into last minute cards and decorations. There are also placecards, gift tags, crafts – your imagination’s the limit!
Cards
Valentine’s Day cards are such an easy way to let your friends and family know you’re thinking about them! Here’s the easiest possible last minute card. Just print it out on 8 1/2 x 11 paper, fold it in half, and you’re ready to go!
I also made some messages for the inside of your card. You can print, cut out, and glue or tape them inside. They come out the best size if you set your printer to print 4 of them on a single page.
These are great for your Sweetie, as well as kids, neighbors, family, or friends. I wanted to do some for my colleagues at work, so the sentiment below!
Your coworkers might be surprised!
And pleased!
Or just VERY Surprised!
(We don’t usually include the guys in our presents and cards – there are lots of them and only seven of us women! We stick together.) But hey, guys like Valentines too!
I used the square card printable, and wrote the receiver’s name in the banner. In this case, the lovely Amy!
Place Cards
Another item in the Last Minute Valentine’s packet, is place cards. This printable comes four to a sheet. Just cut out each one, and write in your guest’s name. Then fold above the heart and below the banner. Piece of cake!
They look pretty, and add that extra special touch that place cards always give. You can stand them up on their own, or put them in the holder of your choice.
Decorations
Also in the Last Minute Printables packet is a sheet of Cut-Out Hearts.
And one big heart.
You can use them for just about anything.
I made a very quick little garland to hang across the dining room window. I just cut circles around the hearts and taped them onto a piece of yarn. Fast and easy! And if you have kids who’re looking for something to do, these hearts are all kinds of fun!
Gift Tags
Another relatively easy last minute Valentine’s gift (besides chocolate – I’m just saying …) is a bottle of wine. And our Last Minute Printables packet has you covered there too.
Just cut out the gift tag, punch a hole, and write the receiver’s name – or names – in the banner. Tie it onto the bottle and you’re good!
Of course, these tags are good for any gift – not just wine – last minute or not.
So there you have it. Lots of easy, fast, free ideas so you can save the day! Your Last Minute Valentine’s Day is handled! If you do any of these projects, or use the hearts for something completely other, let me know. Or drop me a Comment below. I’d love to see what you make!
Happy Valentine’s Day my friend, and thanks so much for stopping by!

These are cute and elegant, and I love your coworkers’ response: they seemed so tickled.
I don’t have a color printer or I’d have strings of hearts hanging everywhere!
